Bionic Woman Classic now on Hulu

6 October 2009 10:13 PM, PDT | Celebrity Bio Examiner | See recent Celebrity Bio Examiner news »

In a previous article, Bionic Blunder -- Where Are Those Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman DVDs?, I reported on the legal entanglements between Universal Studios (who owns the TV shows) and Dimension Films (who owns the rights to the source material, Martin Caidin’s novel Cyborg), and when we could expect to see any season DVD box sets of these iconic 1970’s shows. While there has been no official news from either source, an interesting development has occurred which may (or may not) signal something exciting on the horizon. Hulu.com is now showing all 14 first season episodes of The Bionic Woman (the Real Bionic Woman, not the weak wannabe that NBC tried a few years ago). After spending a couple days reliving my childhood (all of these episodes are from 1976), I wondered if they would still hold up after so much time. Since this was one of my favorite shows (and yes, »

Lindsay Wagner

5 August 2009 11:55 AM, PDT | Celebrity Bio Examiner | See recent Celebrity Bio Examiner news »

In a career that spans nearly 40 years, wherein she inspired millions of girls, and stole the hearts of millions of boys, Lindsay Wagner wears her status as a cultural icon with the same grace, class, and good humor that she always has. She might not be a Bionic Woman in real life, but her accomplishments are superhuman nonetheless. Lindsay Jean Wagner was born on June 22nd, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to William Wagner and Marilyn Thrasher. After her parents divorced when she was seven, Lindsay and her mother moved to Eagle Rock, a suburb near Pasadena. When Lindsay was twelve, a family friend, James Best (who would later star on The Dukes of Hazzard), invited her to join his acting class -- Lindsay accepted and immediately fell in love with the “freedom of emotion” the performing arts afforded her. She also studied dance. The first play Mr. Best cast her in was This Property Condemned. »

Bionic Blunder -- Where Are Those Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman DVDs?

4 August 2009 10:23 AM, PDT | Celebrity Bio Examiner | See recent Celebrity Bio Examiner news »

I knew I was getting old (older) when in recent years I heard kids talk about Steve Austin. They, of course, were referring to wrestler Stone Cold ... I was thinking Lee Majors. A child of the 70s, two of my all-time favorite shows were The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman. When I was a kid, nothing was cooler than this bionic duo. I know I'm not alone in my geek-love for these shows, nor am I alone in the major crush I had on Lindsay Wagner (who deserves better these days than being spokeswoman for Sleep Number beds). Even by the time Bigfoot, Fembots, and a suspicious pencil-thin mustache were thrown into the mix, nothing could dissuade me from my affection (nay, obsession) with these characters. What kids from this era didn't practice running in slow motion while mocking the sound effects? Da-na-na-na-na-na-na. In 1973, ABC-tv produced three »

Emmy nominations: '30 Rock' explosion, '24' implosion, 'Family Guy' wreaks havoc, newcomers snubbed in expanded series races

16 July 2009 2:09 PM, PDT | Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news »

• Both of last year's series champs -- comedy "30 Rock" and drama "Mad Men" -- lead the field in their respective categories again this year. "30 Rock" broke the record for nominations it set last year with 17 bids by landing 22 nods this year. "Mad Men" repeated with 16 nominations, far off the 27 nods for the first season of "NYPD Blue" in 1994. "30 Rock" won seven of its races last year and "Mad Men" prevailed in six. • After being benched last year because of the writers strike, former Emmy powerhouse "24" made a lackluster return to the race this year, failing to score bids for either series or TV movie ("24: Redemption"). Kiefer Sutherland, who was a fixture in the best actor in a drama series category, was snubbed for the first time in the show's seven years. He had to make do with a nod in the TV movie actor race for the one-off "24: Redemption. »

Liveblogging "As the World Turns": Eliza and the Do-Littles

27 May 2009 11:55 AM, PDT | AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news »

To be honest, Luke and Noah probably won't have much to do in today's episode other than check the Oakdale dingo preserve for baby booties, but since we haven't seen much of the boys in the past week I figured I'd strap on the liveblog suit and give this puppy a go anyway.

Today Nuke are dragged out of their West Elm-accessorized gay sex dungeon (we can imagine, anyway) to aid in the search for Baby Eliza, who was last seen crawling in the direction of her agent's office to demand fewer scenes with Paul's Shakespeare-in-the-Park hair/goatee combo.

Will the boys be the key to Eliza's salvation? To find out, follow along below, refreshing often for breaking updates!

"Move your bloomin' arse!!"

2:07Pm Edt: We start off in the Lily Pad, where Meg is huffing a frilly pink bib. I'm hoping it's Eliza's.

Over at Worldwide, Luke has »
