Verne Troyer's troubles are far from over - the tiny star has been hit with a huge tax bill just days after he was accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend.
Troyer's former lover, Yvette Monet, was granted a temporary restraining order against the actor this week (beg02Nov09) after she alleged he had bombarded her with abusive phone calls.
Troyer denied her claims and vowed to fight the accusations in court, but now the Austin Powers star is facing further legal problems after he was hit with a tax bill of nearly $11,000 (£6,875), according to TMZ.com.
The website reports Troyer fell behind with payments and is now being chased by officials in California. »

Mini-Me is not some big-time stalker. That's the word from Verne Troyer's camp after learning that a woman Troyer briefly dated has filed a restraining order against the diminutive actor. Yvette Monet obtained the order on Oct. 1, barring Troyer from coming near her or contacting her in any way. Verne Troyer has hit back at allegations he harassed his ex-girlfriend with abusive phone calls, after she was granted a temporary restraining order against the actor.
Yvette Monet told a judge that the Austin Powers star had been bombarding her with abusive phone calls, leaving her "awful messages" branding her a hooker.
In court documents, obtained by TMZ.com, Monet claims Troyer's entourage carry guns, adding, "His friend Jose is a cop and has guns as well. I'm afraid for my life."
However, the Mini-Me actor vehemently denies the allegations, and has vowed to fight the protection order in court.
His spokesperson tells blogger Perez Hilton, "Mr. Troyer is shocked and appalled to learn about the false and frivolous accusations that have been made by Ms. Monet. It is beyond comprehension that a Restraining Order could be obtained, with no notice to Mr. Troyer, and with no opportunity for him to defend himself, without any proof of any of the allegations. Mr. Troyer looks forward to responding to these allegations in court."
It is not the first time Troyer has had trouble with a former lover - in 2008, he sued his ex Ranae Shrider after she leaked a sex tape featuring the couple to the media. »

Pint-sized movie star Verne Troyer loved his Amish upbringing so much, he plans to dedicate a large chunk of his memoirs to his childhood years.
The Austin Powers star admits his youth was very simple, living with relatives in Michigan - but he has fond memories of his past hardships of living without luxury and electricity.
And he's hoping to give the Amish a public relations boost when he writes all about his childhood in an upcoming autobiography.
He tells WENN, "I used to be Amish, so I know how to drive a horse and buggy. Through growing up I always had to stay with my grandparents, aunts and uncles who are Amish, so when I go back to visit I still get into the culture.
"My parents make their own apple butter, which I'll be getting in time for Christmas. They don't use electricity or drive cars but, having been around it all the time, I don't think of it as strange.
"The way the Amish like to live is plain - it's very Little House on the Prairie. To not have the luxuries we all have and live life the way they think God intended is interesting. I do miss it because that's how I was raised. You get a whole other perspective on life and family because you don't have all these other distractions." »

I wouldn’t normally post new posters for a movie that’s already come out but then I had to remind myself that The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus doesn’t come out in the Us until Christmas day! Seems crazy we get it so much earlier but then again, it’s usually the other way round.
This poster is the Japanese poster and it looks excellent. Usually they seem to rehash images from previously released images but as far as I’m aware this one is brand new and shows Heath Ledger kneeling in front of the magic mirror – Click it to enlarge.
The movie also stars Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, Verne Troyer and Christopher Plummer.

I saw a screening of Heath Ledger’s final film, “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”, the other day and am surprised to say….it completely works and the film was great. Director Terry Gilliam has made his best work in years and even with other actors having to step in to help complete the movie, nothing felt forced and it’s like it was meant to be this way all along.
For those not familiar with the movie, “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” is Heath Ledger’s final performance as he died while filming. After he died, production was halted as Gilliam tried to figure out how to salvage what he had. To make it work he got Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law to step in and play Heath Ledger’s character at different points in the movie. I saw this film nearly a week ago, but I have been putting of reviewing it because, quite frankly, it was an underwhelming experience. Having shielded myself from reviews before seeing Terry Gilliam's latest effort I didn't have any preconceptions. However, I did expect to either love it or hate it. Unusually I am finding it difficult to muster any kind of emotion about The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. But here goes. Le Plot: Doctor Parnassus is an immortal mystic who can subsume living beings into his mind when in a trance. This ability is the central theme of his shambolic travelling theatre troupe, made up of a lovelorn cockney actor, his statuesque daughter Valentina and a dwarf (played by Verne Troyer, or Mini Me as most people know him as). The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Directed by Terry Gilliam A glance at the film posters could almost convince you that a new Harry Potter was upon us. The troubled final film of Heath Ledger prior to his premature death in February of last year has finally been released after a Herculean effort on the part of the perennially ill-fated Terry Gilliam and his dedicated cast and crew, including a producer's dream triumvirate of Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp, who all stepped forward to complete the various facets of Ledger's screen swansong. The metaphoric links between the career history of the frantic ebullience of Terry Gilliam and a tale concerning an aged carnival barker traversing the dark streets of 21st century London proclaiming the wonders of his infinite imagination are not difficult to discern, but alas it pains me to say this is but one of those Gilliam projects »
