✒Eyebrows were raised at News International's Wapping HQ when a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, with personalised numberplate, pulled up to the main gates. Staff were even more surprised when the Express Newspapers owner, Richard Desmond, stepped out for a lunchtime meeting with News Corp's Europe and Asia chief executive, James Murdoch. His visit comes shortly after News International's chief executive, Rebekah Brooks, was spotted at Desmond's Thameside offices. Paywalls all round?

'New Moon' star Michael Sheen returns to the Craig Ferguson show

11 hours ago | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

Last time The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Michael Sheen appeared on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, it was a good interview. This time, it's an absolute stitch. Sheen appeared on the show on November 30th, and he went to talk about everything from New Moon's Aro to a little fencing trick gone bad. It's clear in watching Sheen visit with Ferguson that the two have a long-standing rapport and great interview chemistry . . . or maybe Michael Sheen is just that funny. When Ferguson asks what Sheen is up to next, you might wonder whether Michael Sheen'll be going back to his Laws Of Attraction days with s ... »

Review: 'New Moon'

4 December 2009 2:47 PM, PST | Denver Movies Examiner | See recent Denver Movies Examiner news »

Like an emo edition of Tiger Beat put to film, The Twilight Saga's New Moon is everything one would expect from the follow-up to the monstrously successful 2008 film Twilight: slow-motion entrances, topless guys and a bevy of brooding and melodramatic sappiness (Edward's voice is not the only thing that drips like honey). For its mammoth fan base with an insatiable appetite for anything related to this series, New Moon will be an instant classic. Yet, beneath the 24/7 coverage of series stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, along with the millions of adoring and moonstruck fans, there is a simple story of love, passion and CGI wolves.

If New Moon appears a lot like the classic Shakespearean tale Romeo & Juliet, it's no coincidence. The film, and series author Stephanie Meyer, lifts many themes from the story and then signals to audiences that, yes, this is Romeo and Juliet only »

Now that Woody Harrelson ("The Messenger") has been pushed up to the lead race from supporting at the Globes, that changes the category scenario a bit. Co-star Ben Foster remains a contender, but Woody upstages him here just like he does in the film. 'Eclipse' Is Coming In June, And Here's What We're Hoping Will Sell It To A Wider Audience

2 December 2009 2:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

While "New Moon" has certainly accrued fan approval and box office power since its release on November 20, critics haven't had the same appreciation for the vampire romance. "Eclipse," the next in the series, wrapped in October and is slated for a June 30, 2010 release, we have a few suggestions to help make it a film everyone -- not just Twilighters -- will enjoy.

Amp up the Bella and Edward romance

"Twilight" established the potent romance between Bella and Edward, but "New Moon" sacrificed much of the chemistry for the sake of Bella's growing bond with Jacob. Granted, the reason why Edward was mostly absent during "New Moon" was because he broke up with Bella and was moping around in an apartment for months on end, but Chris Weitz forgot to reestablish why exactly Bella and Edward were so in love. With "Eclipse," we hope David Slade explores their connection, especially with »

The very funny Craig Ferguson had Michael Sheen as a guest on his show last night. Craig started off the segment talking about the gigantic success New Moon has been at the box office while making quite a bit of fun at his own show. He then proceeded to show a tiny clip of Felix smashing Edward in Volterra before he launched into an Arolike voice and introduced Michael Sheen. When Michael came on they joked around about Aros hair Michaels wish for an action figure and previous roles that Michael has played. Thanks Boo!This was such a funny interview with Michael! Between the two of them Im not sure who was funnier but they were so good together. I love Craigs impression of Michaels Aro voice.Did you like this interview with Michael? »

‘Tron Legacy’ Team Remaking Disney’s ‘The Black Hole’

1 December 2009 2:25 PM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

The remake/reboot/prequel game is now in full swing around Hollywood, but Disney has shown some promise in this area with the likes of the upcoming Tron Legacy, which made a huge (and somewhat unexpected) splash this past summer at Comic Con. If you haven’t seen the Tron Legacy trailer, then you probably don’t yet know why polishing up an old property can sometimes be a good thing.

Well, Disney is now dusting off another old property and giving it a modern polish -- this time it’s the 1970s “groundbreaking” sci-fi adventure, The Black Hole, which is being put in the hands of the Tron Legacy team and the scribe of the upcoming Clash of The Titans remake.

The actual names behind this project are Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, producer Sean Bailey and Clash of The Titans writer Travis Beacham. If you’re like me, »

Mirren to Play The Queen Again in Star-Studded Biopic?

30 November 2009 3:03 PM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

The legendary Helen Mirren may once again be serving crown and country as Queen Elizabeth II. WENN is reporting that Mirren is being called upon to play the once and current queen in Mother: The Indira Ghandi Story, a biopic about the Indian prime minister who was asassinated in 1984.

Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones are also reportedly in talks to play Lyndon B. Johnson and Richard Nixon, respectively, while Emily Watson is attached to play the formidable Margaret Thatcher. Director Krishna Shah calls it "the project of my life" so one hopes this could actually come together for him with this kind of cast. The film is scheduled to be released in 2010, which seems a bit too optimistic with so many schedules to coordinate, but we'll see.

Obviously, this should be filed firmly under "rumor," but it's an intriguing prospect. Indira Ghandi is certainly long overdue for a biopic, »

The Satellites Have Launched. What Are They Orbiting?

30 November 2009 6:10 AM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

The Satellites (formerly Golden) have announced their 2009 nominations for what it's worth. And you might be screaming "not very much".

It's hard to know what to make of this Golden Globe splinter group. There is never much of a narrative thread in their nominations. You can't sense from year to year a type of film they like or whatnot. Which makes them feel a bit suspect. They also do very strange things which you're about to see if you read their nominations. They never get much attention and yet they keep plugging away. This year they were especially kind to 2012 (who knew?), Nine and The Stoning of Soraya M. But they were downright rude to the sci-fi drama Moon which received zero nominations despite their lack of aversion to sci-fi films. I mention this because the moon is a natural satellite and the Satellites are artificial. Maybe they're jealous. What they're orbiting we know not. »

29 November 2009 11:18 PM, PST | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

The cast of The Twilight Saga: New Moon has absolutely taken over the IMDb STARmeter. At the top is Taylor Lautner, followed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (former reigning champions of the weekly number one spot on many occasions). Also on the list are Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, and Nikki Reed (notice a trend, ladies? Yes, that's the sound of new "Twi-Guys" taking note of the female lookers on the New Moon castlist) as well as Jackson Rathbone. The New Moon cast proliferation, though, stops not at the top ten. Within the top fifty, there's also a wealth of Twilight star names, including Kellan Lutz, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Anna Kendrick, Michael Sheen, Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, and Cam Gigandet.
