Father of four.
Founder of The Comic Strip, a group of comedians who gathered at The Revue bar in London's Soho in the early 1980s. Soon after The Group were signed to channel 4 where they made a series of pioneering comedy TV films featuring the likes of Adrian Edmondson, Rik Mayall, Jennifer Saunders and Robbie Coltrane, they made a few films for the BBC but returned to Channel 4 for Four Men in a Car and Four Men in a Plane.
Comedy partner of Nigel Planer. Both he and Nigel worked at Peter's parents summer camp.
The part of Mike in The Young Ones was written for him, but he turned it down at the last minute.
Both of his sons have appeared in Stella Street The Movie. His son Jack worked as a Gaffer and had a part as a Supermarket Employee, and his son Red was part of a Tour Party visiting Al Pacino's house.
