The BBC, which continues to broadcast daily radio dramas in the UK (they have become virtually extinct in the U.S.), said Thursday that it will make available a new episode of the Doctor Who sci-fi series on the Internet beginning today (Friday). The television version has appeared on British television since 1963 and has been syndicated on U.S. television in various forms since 1973. Sylvester McCoy, the seventh actor to play The Doctor (since 1987), will reprise the role for radio. McCoy told the BBC: "These are good original drama stories, which is rare these days. I think the fans will be delighted with this project, but they will never be fully satisfied until The Doctor is back on TV."
