Actresses Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones have come up with a novel way of solving the global economic crisis - buying puppies.
In a new video for comedian Will Ferrell's website Funnyordie.com, the two stars come together to poke fun at the international economic downturn, and make their own suggestion about how best to solve the problem.
In the sketch, the pair says: "The global financial crisis is affecting all of us. The panic on Wall Street has now reached mainstream. There doesn't seem to be a clear answer. And the worst may be yet to come."
Portman adds, "After careful consideration, Rashida and I have determined the best course of action - puppies!"
The actresses are then shown rolling around a bed kissing and cuddling a number of cute pooches, before challenging viewers by saying in all seriousness, "So how about it America? Puppies."

Tropic Thunder has gathered some boycotters over the past few days, but that didn't keep away Hollywood for last night's big red carpet premiere in La. Fresh from a weekend of rehearsals in NYC, Katie Holmes popped in on Tom's arm to help celebrate his acclaimed cameo in the movie. Of course, the stars Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. and Jack Black were all there with their wives. Stiller in particular spent time defending his movie's edgy content, but only this weekend's box office will tell whether or not people are scared away by the controversy. Matthew McConaughey and Tobey Maguire, who both also make appearances in the film looked great out last night with The Office guys too making it quite the little boys club, with a few pretty faces like Katie, Amy Adams and more sprinkled in for good measure. To see more from the premiere including Christine Taylor,

We also saw how Khloe did not appreciate the fact that her family was questioning her being single by choice. In fact, she said, "I don't think it's fair that people are forcing something down my throat."
With a little more push care of Kourtney, Khloe agreed to go on the blind dates that Kim set up for Khloe. However, Khloe vowed that her sisters won't mess with her love life as soon as the dates were over. "They really need to back off," she said indignantly.
From amateur porn star to reality TV princess, Kim seems to have done it all. She's been on Playboy, established her own clothing line alongside her sisters, and has also set up her own Help Line,

Splendid news, 24/profile/elisha_cuthbert.aspx">Elisha Cuthbert haters – it looks like Kim Bauer will be too busy this Fall to appear on the next season of 24.aspx">24 (or the two-hour 24 TV movie). Today, it was announced that Elisha Cuthbert has signed on to star in a new CBS drama pilot entitled Ny-lon. The series, based on an English drama of the same name (which starred Rashida Jones, of The Office), follows Cuthbert, a teacher and record store clerk in New York on her romantic escapades with a London stockbroker. The title is sufficiently clever and, unlike a fair number of 24 fans, I don't mind Elisha Cuthbert. I don't understand how someone with two jobs is able to go back and forth between London and New York so often, but I guess we'll find out.
While this is only a pilot order at this point, one should assume it has

Actress Rashida Jones has hit out at the "depressing" lack of Hollywood role models for young girls.
Jones, the star of U.S. Tv's The Office and the daughter of music legend Quincy Jones, is fed up with reading about the exploits of troubled celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.
Instead, the 32-year-old wishes more attention could be focused on responsible role models - like Miley Cyrus.
She says, "I think about what it would be like to have a daughter now, one who is influenced by Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears - and, ugh, it's so depressing.
"Where are the other young Hollywood role models who are cool, smart, and out there doing something with their lives? Maybe Miley Cyrus? There's a definite responsibility that comes with being famous. You shouldn't be able to just... look pretty."
