Rising star Johann Urb -- the son of actor-musician Tarmo Urb and his wife -- was born on January 24, 1977, in Tallinn, Estonia. He moved to Finland at age ten and New York City by the time he turned seventeen. Explaining his globe-trotting, Urb told Starpulse Entertainment that "I came to visit my dad who had moved here with my uncle (actor Toomas Urb). They defected from the Soviet Union and got political asylum. My dad spent years in jail and mental asylums because he had a band in Estonia and was singing about a lot of stuff that the Kgb wasn't too happy about. Gone With The Wind 70th Anniversary Blu-ray Review

There is nothing wrong with Gone with the Wind. Yes, it’s a bit racist. Heck, it’s a lot racist and you get to cringe listening to Clark Gable say things like “darkie.” The black characters are mostly shameful, and the film revels in the greatness and loss of the South. There are interesting ambiguities, though. Rhett Butler (Gable) recognizes that the civil war is stupid and bound for failure, but later on enlists. Okay, there’s a lot wrong with the film, but it’s also one of those films of such grand dramatic heft that it is also undeniable. My review of Gone with the Wind after the (Kris Kross will make you Jump) jump.

It’s hard not to wrestle with the history of the film, and Spike Lee has decidedly dismissed it. He’s not unfair for doing so; there are a lot of problems with the text. »

After the 80's passed it seemed that - for the most part - the slasher craze had finally come to a rest. Successful franchises like Halloween, Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th had been siphoned beyond emptiness and any intrigue the sub genre once offered appeared dead and buried. Then 1996 rolled around and Wes Craven, Kevin Williamson and Neve Campbell reminded us that good directing, storytelling, and acting is alive and well with the surprise hit Scream.

The next couple of years provided a massive batch of 'fresh' copycats and a handful of Scream sequels. Very few of any are remotely near noteworthy (quick nod to I Know What You Did Last Summer in order to avoid the onslaught of negative commentary from the obsessed Sarah Michelle Gellar fans out there J ), though Scream 2 remains a memorable franchise installment based solely on the unexpected axing of series favorite Randy (Jamie Kennedy) Meeks. »

Summit Picks an ‘Alibi’ and Eli Roth’s ‘Invasion’

Summit Entertainment, the small studio behind the big Twilight Saga: New Moon, has acquired two titles very different from sparkly teen vampires.  They’ve spent the millions from that series on the comic book Alibi and the Eli Roth-produced Invasion.

Alibi is a Top Cow comic about a well-known socialite whose presence establishes a cover for the secrets of his twin brother, a government assassin, according to Variety.  Mandeville Films (Surrogates) is producing and Summit has signed hot newcomer John Hlavin (Underworld 4) to write the script.

The comic was part of Top Cow’s “Pilot Season,” which meant readers could vote on which one-off title should receive a full series.  Alibi came in last in 2008 with 3% of the vote.

It sounds like an interesting concept, but if they intend for the thriller to fit the zeitgeist, the producers should switch the sexes.  My idea would be to make the socialite an attention-whoring female, »

Hollywood's "Burglar Bunch" Plead Not Guilty

Hollywood's "burglar bunch" have all maintained their innocence. The gang, accused of stealing from some of Hollywood's young stars' homes, pleaded not guilty at the Los Angeles Criminal Court on Wednesday.

Diana Tamayo, Roy Lopez Jr., Courtney Ames, and reputed leader Nicholas Prugo are all accused of entering Hollywood celebrities' houses, including Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Orlando Bloom, and taking million of dollars worth of jewelry and accessories.

The four suspects are ordered to go back in court on January 21 for their preliminary hearing.

Another named suspect, Jonathan Ajar, was also in court but he has yet to be formally charged in connection to the burglaries.

Four Suspects In Hollywood Burglary Gang Plead Not Guilty

Four suspects linked to high profile raids on the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson and Orlando Bloom have pleaded not guilty.

Nineteen-year-olds Nicholas Prugo, Diana Tamayo and Courtney Leigh Ames, and 27-year-old Roy Lopez Jr. entered pleas on Wednesday through their attorneys in a Los Angeles court.

All four face felony burglary counts.

In addition, Prugo faces seven counts of first-degree burglary for break-ins at celebrity homes including those of Lohan, Bloom, Bilson and Paris Hilton.

A Los Angeles judge also ruled this month 18-year-old gang suspect Alexis Neiers will stand trial for looting Bloom's property, after Prugo identified her on a security video entering the star's Hollywood Hills home.

Informant Prugo's request that his case be separated from the others has so far been denied. »

Hey remember that wacky show "I Get That a Lot," in which celebs pretend to be regular people with uncanny resemblances to uh, themselves? Well, it's back in January.

In CBS' second "I Get That a Lot," celebutante Paris Hilton, rapper Snoop Dogg, peppy cook Rachael Ray, musician Gene Simmons, skater Tony Hawk and Julie Chen will prank unsuspecting people who will do a double-take when they see the celebrities doing ordinary jobs.

"Hey, aren't you ..?"

"Nah, I get that a lot."

Cue puzzlement and disbelief.

The hidden camera prank show, in which celebs go undercover as "ordinary" Americans working regular jobs, drew more than 10 million viewers and strong demo numbers in its first outing last April Fool's Day. That prompted CBS to order up more of the franchise.

World AIDS Day, Pudgy 'New Moon' Werewolves And '2012' In Today's Twitter-Wood

If you noticed an abnormal amount of red in your Twitter feed today, it's because much of the Twitterverse and Twitter-Wood population was observing World AIDS Day.
