CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, or referred to as CSI, or unofficially CSI: Las Vegas gave us what I expected with their season opener - a tragic, emotional death, and a funeral of a beloved fellow officer and a few roles rekindled for an episode or two.
We saw last season Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) get set up for the murder of the mafia boss Lou Gedda but the team saved him from that predicament. But Gedda had a mole in the Lvpd force and it was Undersheriff Jeff McKeen.
At the end of the 8th season finale, we know Warrick is gunning for the mole and that mole, McKeen, shoots Warrick in his car.
Season 9 Premiere: DVR Spoiler Alerts following the break.
After McKeen shoots Warrick, he calls the shooting in, giving a bogus description of a shooter.
It was with eerie calmness that McKeen returns to the scene after

CBS is eyeing John Mal kovich or Laurence Fishburne to replace William Petersen on "CSI."
Petersen, who's played Gil Grissom since the show's inception, is leaving in midseason.
Both Malkovich and Fishburne are considered leading candidates to take his place, sources say.
"It's all under discussion," says a production source.
Petersen isn't leaving the show completely; he's expected to return from time-to-time, perhaps as early as the show's 200th episode in April, CBS officials said yesterday.
"It's not the end of the show. There's a lot of good stuff coming up," a show spokeswoman said yesterday.

Former CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gary Dourdan has fired back at reports he's set for televised rehab following his recent drug possession conviction.
Reports suggested the actor, who lost his role on the hit show after he was caught in possession of cocaine and ecstasy in California in April, was set to join the cast of reality show Celebrity Rehab.
But Dourdan confirmed the news is bogus.
He says, "For the record, contrary to what's written on the web, I will not be (doing) any celebrity rehab. That's completely false."
The actor avoided jail following his drug possession arrest after pleading guilty to felony charges at the end of last month.
In a statement released shortly after his arrest, the actor said, "Obviously, I am embarrassed to find myself in this situation and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their support."

CSI star Gary Dourdan is joining the troubled stars on the second season of hard-hitting U.S. reality show Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew, according to reports.
The actor was arrested in California in April after police found drugs in his car. He agreed a deal in court requiring him pay a $4,500 (GBP2,500) fine and to complete a 16-class drug program.
According to the National Enquirer, producers of the show approached Dourdan shortly after the plea bargain and asked him to take part in the series - and he agreed.
A source tells the tabloid, "Gary knows he screwed up, but he wants to stay in the public eye. He didn't think twice about doing the show. He's used to being on TV."
A spokesperson for the show refused to confirm Dourdan's involvement. It is rumoured he will join Rod Stewart's son Sean, singer Tawny Kitaen, Grease star Jeff Conaway and rocker Steve Adler in rehab.
The 21-day program, lead by Dr. Drew Pinsky, will air in October. Filming began on Monday.

Dourdan hopes to announce his plans by the time he is arraigned on 28 May.
The actor has already apologised publicly to fans and now he's apologising to country star Taylor Swift after his legal woes in the desert forced him to pull out of a planned awards show to honour the singer.
Dourdan was set to present Swift with an award at Hollywood Life magazine's 10th Annual Young Hollywood Awards last week.
He says, "I am so sorry to all my fans, especially the young ones, like Taylor Swift, who I should've been supporting... instead of driving tired in the desert."

"I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative."
However a spokesperson for the star insists the exchange was not intended for air: "This was a personal text to a friend taken completely out of context."
