Recorded the complete sonnets of Shakespeare in a multi-LP box set, and played Scrooge in a famous 1941 American Decca recording of "A Christmas Carol". The "Christmas Carol" recording became a classic and was reissued on LP throughout the 1950's and '60's. It has recently been released by Deutsche Grammophon on Compact Disc.
In 1958, he was set to host and star in 13 episodes of a romantic anthology series called, "Portrait" but the series dissolved after the pilot was shot.
He re-created his film role of Robert Conway in "Lost Horizon" on a 3-record 78 RPM adaptation of the film released by Decca in 1946. This was a much-altered version written and directed by George Wells. It changed Conway's brother into merely his assistant, omitted Sondra, Conway's love interest, reduced the amount of passengers who crash-land in Shangri-La along with Conway, and changed their names of several of the characters. Colman narrated this version.
Hosted the radio show "Favorite Story" from 1947 to 1949.
