'Hardball' Guy Derails Hillary

18 November 2008 6:39 AM, PST | From NYPost.com | See recent New York Post news

"Hardball" host Chris Matthews and the other "castratos" at MSNBC shouldn't hold their breath waiting for a Hillary Clinton interview.

Matthews, who once opined that men who supported Clinton were "castratos in the eunuch chorus," forgot the cardinal rule for those who are often mentioned on Page Six - he didn't take a good look around on the Acela train from Philadelphia to Washington Saturday before he started bad-mouthing the New York senator.

An avowed Clinton lover who was sitting next to Matthews reports: "He was in business class wearing a red baseball hat that said Penn on the back,

Keep Your Head Down, Sarah

12 November 2008 8:05 AM, PST | From NYPost.com | See recent New York Post news

CBS anchor Katie Couric thinks Sarah Palin has a thing or two to learn about politics before she contemplates a White House run in 2012. "I think she should keep her head down, work really hard and learn about governing. But I'm not anyone to give advice to anyone about anything," she told Page Six at Glamour Magazine's 2008 Women of the Year Awards dinner at the Essex House. Although her interview with Palin made the Alaska governor look dumb (while rejuvenating Couric's flagging career in the process), Couric won't give herself too much credit.

10 November 2008 2:09 AM, PST | From Hollyscoop.com | See recent HollyScoop news

Rumor has it that new first lady Michelle Obama will grace the cover of an upcoming issue of Vogue magazine. The fashion magazine's spokesman told Wwd, "Starting with Eleonor Roosevelt, it's been a long-standing tradition to photograph the new First Lady. So needless to say, we are very interested in working with Mrs. Obama. Precisely how is still being discussed." If Michelle does get the coveted cover page, she'll be the second first lady to ever grace the cover. The only other first lady to get the cover was Hillary Clinton in December 1998. Michelle has...

The results are in: Barack Obama has been elected the 44th President of the United States. This win makes him the first African-American chief executive in the 232-year history of the country. While handily taking the New England states, Obama gained the lead in the race by also winning the hotly contested Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Western states helped put him firmly in the victory column, and the announcement that he had the necessary electoral-college votes was made immediately after the polls closed in California at 11 p.m. Et. Though race was a theme that wafted throughout a tough fight

Poehler Becomes A Real Baby Mama

26 October 2008 7:25 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Comedienne Amy Poehler has become a mum for the very first time - giving birth to a baby boy.

The American funnywoman welcomed her first child with husband, Arrested Development star Will Arnett, on Saturday.

The pair has called the tot - who weighed just over 8 lbs - Archie Arnett.

The Baby Mama actress left her regular slot on hit U.S. sketch show Saturday Night Live last month in preparation for the new arrival.

The star has received widespread applause for her caricature performances of Hillary Clinton to Tina Fey's Sarah Palin.

And her former co-stars were celebrating when the show was aired on Saturday night, telling a cheering crowd: "Amy Poehler is not here tonight because she is having a baby."

Poehler won't return to SNL after her maternity leave - she is planning a spin-off series to the hit U.S. version of The Office.

Casting the 2008 Presidential Election

16 October 2008 7:05 PM, PDT | From Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

Forget Oliver Stone's W. (which is sorta boring if you ask me), we are going major and leaving no stone unturned as we set out to cast a feature film adaptation of the 2008 Presidential Election. From the media elite to the folks at the top of the ticket there is hardly a name we leave off this list and myself along with the help of my casting directors Laremy Legel and David Frank have put together a list of names that won't necessarily break the bank of our producers, but represent some of the finest talent in Hollywood and will be put to good use. Currently Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Forrest Gump and The Insider) is writing the script for Steven Soderbergh to direct. Roth has shown the ability to tap into a political thrill ride with The Insider but also shown a more comedic

Johansson Blasts 'Sexist' Media

9 October 2008 5:04 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Scarlett Johansson has accused the press of "unbelievable sexism" towards former U.S. presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

The sexy actress, who is a staunch Democrat, used her appearance in the latest edition of U.S. Cosmo Girl to promote her political views, lambasting the media over its treatment of the New York senator - the first woman in history to have a chance at running for America's president.

Clinton lost her campaign to become the Democratic candidate for presidency in June, with Barack Obama chosen to battle Republican John McCain for the White House race.

And Johansson was stunned by the treatment Clinton received from political pundits.

She tell the publication, "We still live in a country that's sexist and racist. Those are issues that we deal with whether we want to ignore it or not.

"Seeing how the media portrayed Hillary (Clinton) with unbelievable sexism - some of the things that people were saying were just so overwhelming. You just couldn't believe the names that they were calling her!"

But the star believes American culture will soon change - because she met so many politicised young people on a tour of U.S. colleges.

She adds, "These kids are just so well-informed and so interested. There were really obscure questions and debates that they wanted to lead - I couldn't believe it!

"And it was amazing how many of these kids turned out. I'm 23, and all of these kids are probably between 16 to 24. They're my peers, so we can all talk on the same wavelength. We're all connected by the same issues."

The West Wing: President Bartlet Returns to Help Obama

4 October 2008 8:38 AM, PDT | From TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news

Without a doubt, the current presidential election has been the most interesting political competition in recent history. Though Hillary Clinton was the obvious frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, she was ultimately beaten in the primaries by underdog Barack Obama. It seemed like Obama had the election all sewn up but then John McCain chose Sarah Palin for his running mate and the Republican ticket's popularity rose.

Though Obama is ahead in the polls at the moment, this election has certainly proved that things can change very quickly. Aaron Sorkin, the creator of The West Wing and an outspoken supporter of the Democratic party, recently imagined that Obama might need a little no-nonsense advice. Who better to give it to him than the finest President to ever rule the NBC primetime schedule?

That's right, after a few years away, Sorkin raised former President Josiah Bartlet to give Presidential candidate Obama some

Clintons Not Supreme For O

Bill and Hillary Clinton are doing their bare minimum to help elect Barack Obama president because the Democratic nominee refused to guarantee Hillary a Us Supreme Court judgeship should he win the White House, sources say.

A rep for Sen. Clinton e-mailed Page Six yesterday: "Absurd. Nonsense. Rubbish. Hogwash. Malarkey."

But the word in Democratic circles is that Hillary - after being rejected by Obama as his running mate, the position given to Sen. Joe Biden - made it clear to Obama's camp that she wanted

Paul Newman’s lasting impact in Hollywood was more than evident Saturday, a day after the Oscar winner succumbed to cancer, as stars and pals alike expressed their sadness over his death. "There is a point where feelings go beyond words," two-time costar Robert Redford said in a statement. "I have lost a real friend. My life – and this country – is better for his being in it." The pair, who shared heartthrob status in their heyday, starred together in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969 and again in The Sting, in 1973. A testament to their easygoing friendship: Redford famously gave Newman a dented,

Dempsey's Clinton Apology

24 September 2008 6:59 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey has apologised to U.S. politician Hillary Clinton for jokes made at her expense in his recent movie Made Of Honor.

The film opened with a gag about Clinton's husband Bill's affair with intern Monica Lewinsky and the actor insists he felt uncomfortable about the scene - because he knew the New York senator is a fan of his work.

And Dempsey even tried to persuade the film's director to cut the jokes from the picture.

He says, "I felt quite bad and wanted to speak to Hillary about it, knowing that she's a huge fan of (TV show) Grey's Anatomy and has been going to see my movies since day one, but I just didn't have the heart.

"So I want to say, 'I'm sorry Hillary that I didn't warn you about what was going to happen. I tried to get the scenes cut, only I didn't win the battle.'"

Wonder Woman vs. Sarah Palin

17 September 2008 4:08 PM, PDT | From Comicmix.com | See recent Comicmix news

Many of us know Lynda Carter. She was the star of the 1970's Wonder Woman TV series, where she did many of her own stunts and became forever linked with the character, setting the standard for any future portrayals. She's been seen in supporting roles in comedies such as Super Troopers and the very funny Sky High. She's appeared in the popular Smallville TV series and played Mama Morton in the 10th anniversary show of Chicago in West End London. And she hasn't aged in the last 25 years.

Recently, Lynda Carter was being interviewed by Victor Fiorillo of the Philadelphia Magazine. They talked about nude scenes, life, alcoholism, her singing career and, yes, the many recent comparisons between Sarah Palin and Wonder Woman.

The actress was not shy about her opinions concerning how the Alaskan governor stacks up next to the Amazon warrior of Paradise Island. The full interview can be found at this link,

Sarah Has Secret Style Team

Insiders tell Page Six Palin has a secretive circle of stylists who dress her for events. McCain Advisor Upset With Palin Attack

16 September 2008 6:30 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Leading aides to U.S. presidential candidate John McCain have attacked the writers of comedy show Saturday Night Live for their "sexist" portrayal of the Senator's running mate Sarah Palin.

Comedienne Tina Fey, who has been compared to the Alaskan Governor, mocked Palin during a skit on Saturday's show, making the Republican Vice-President nominee appear a little stupid.

Fey also played up to Palin's one-time stint as a beauty queen, making pageant-type poses as fellow comedienne Amy Poehler - as political rival Hillary Clinton - talked about policy and sexism in politics.

Most found the skit hilarious, but John McCain's top advisor Carly Fiorina wasn't laughing.

She says, "The portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin... I think that continues the line of argument that is disrespectful in the extreme, and, yes, I would say sexist."

Fiorina was also upset with the fact Palin was portrayed as a lesser figure than Clinton: "Just because Sarah Palin has different views than Hillary Clinton does not mean that she lacks substance. She has a lot of substance."

But even Palin liked the skit. Her spokeswoman says, "She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween."

Poehler Leaves Saturday Night Live

16 September 2008 11:59 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Comedienne Amy Poehler will leave her post at hit U.S. comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live to give birth to her first baby later this year.

Poehler announced her pregnancy with her husband, Arrested Development star Will Arnett, in April.

She has been widely-celebrated on the star-studded show for her charicature of former first lady and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

But the Baby Mama star insists she will not be returning to the show following her maternity leave - she will instead star in her own series - a spin-off of Steve Carell's U.S. TV series The Office.

Poehler muses, "It's gonna be really hard - Boyz II Men hard - to say goodbye to yesterday. SNL was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down."

Her last episode will air later this season, following the November presidential election.

NBC Tries To Yank YouTube SNL Clip

16 September 2008 10:32 AM, PDT | From Studio Briefing | See recent Studio Briefing news

NBC on Monday sent take-down notices to YouTube as Saturday Night Live fans posted clips of last weekend's Saturday Night Live sketch featuring former SNL head writer and 30 Rock star Tina Fey doing a spot-on impersonation of Sarah Palin and Amy Poehler doing Hillary Clinton. People alerted to the YouTube video saw a notice reading, "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by NBC Universal." But as soon as one clip was removed, another took its place -- and the clip also showed up on numerous other websites. Asked what Palin herself thought of the clip, her spokesperson told CBS News, "She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween."
