Afm is always my favorite time of the film reporting year. There's always so much information about cool genre movies flying at you from every direction that it's literally a full time job just keeping up with what's going on. It's for that reason that we here at Qe decided to hold off on a lot of our favorite news and make one big giant mega post with all the stuff that had us talking behind the scenes.
To avoid cluttering up the homepage I've decided to bury all the images and information after the break so click through and feast on the many goodies beyond.
I've chosen to start with Neuromancer not for the quality of the news but for how high the film currently ranks on my most anticipated. And not because I have any real fondness for Hayden Christensen or James Kahn, but just because it's been

Uh...what?
If you ever saw Mona Lisa, you'd be surprised to learn that it's being remade. That's not a slight against the Neil Jordan film, because it's actually pretty good - got an Oscar nomination and the whole bit - but it's not exactly one of those movies you always think they should try again. And yet, here we are, and the role of Bob Hoskins will now be played by Hayden Christensen.
Huh?
Screen Daily reports that the new version will be both contemporized and transplanted from England to the United States, and that HandMade Films will spend about $8 million on the project, circling March 2009 for a production date. "The original film still stands up. HandMade has a lot of little gems in its library, but not all of them will stand up for a remake," said Michael Ryan of HandMade.
"A lot of people do remember the

After being launched from relative obscurity to play The Man of Steel, I thought Brandon Routh had a chance at becoming a bonafied leading man. Well that chance has since come and gone, with Routh well on his way to being diagnosed with Hayden Christensen syndrome. In what may be a small reversal of fortune, Routh has just been cast, along with Gil Bellows, Martin Donovan and Carrie-Anne Moss, in the upcoming thriller Unthinkable. The cast doesn't exactly scream blockbuster, but it does...

Hayden Christensen has inked a three picture deal with Screen Gems. The deal adds two more pictures to Bone Deep, the John Luessenhop-directed crime drama that began lensing in September. The deal is predicated on his proven box office success. And this brings up an interesting question: in spite of that, does anyone actually like this guy or his movies? I think I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a film he has been in and that he is one of the weakest leading men working today. Of...

Can anyone catch up to this cool cat? With Shia Labeouf's Eagle Eye taking the top spot at the box-office this weekend it makes four-in-a-row for the actor (not counting the animated Surf's Up) and it made me wonder if the 22-year-old is our next big time actor or if it's just a case of him starring in the right film at the right time that has made his films so popular leaving the title of "The Next Big Thing" up for grabs. Let's face it, Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were going to make big bucks no matter what, Shia had very little, if anything, to do with their success. One could make the argument that Disturbia opened during a very weak time in 2007 and that accounts for its three week box-office domination with rather modest numbers, winning that third weekend with barely over $9 million.

Even before we put the spotlight on Robert Pattinson, tMF has been covering the acting career of fellow British actor Tom Sturridge (http://themovie-fanatic.com/hotlist/rising_stars/tom_sturridge/). Following a fantastic performance in Like Minds - together with another favorite, Eddie Redmayne - we were disappointed when the producers of Jumper replaced Tom with the more popular but definitely less talented Hayden Christensen. Now, in a bizarre coincidence of sorts, Tom will be appearing in a new movie with Rachel Bilson (who replaced another actress previously cast in Jumper). Here's the good news for all Tom Sturridge fans - this was just posted by The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i324d533915afe51bafbd5fc55f77357e): Tom Sturridge is starring in Waiting for Forever, an indie romantic comedy being directed by James Keach. For me, it seemed I would have to be really moronic not to take the part... The stage is much more a test of nerve (than film) and seeing what you are made of. It would be very easy to do simple stuff. It doesn't really interest me that much... Every actor has limits. It's sort of testing out where they are. Luckily, I haven't found them yet. I suppose the thing I've learned is that I think I am more capable than I thought I was... There are a lot of actors who think you can just go on stage and do it - you can't. says Dan Radcliffe. - - - - - - I would have to admit that I was never a big fan of Daniel Radcliffe. Not until recently, that is... What made me change my mind? Lots of things. First of all, the young

Rachel Bilson has warned fans she won't be planning a big star-studded wedding when it's time to settle down with boyfriend Hayden Christensen - because the pair want to elope.
The actress hates the idea of spending her wedding day in the spotlight, and wants to celebrate with as few people as possible.
Bilson - who has dated Christensen since 2007 - says, "I want a very small wedding. I don't like attention like that. I'd want to elope"

Hayden Christensen came from behind to win last week's battle of the Hollywood hotties, polling 60 votes to James Franco's 41. "He thrills me with everything he does," wrote Erica Campbell of Kentucky. "The way he acts, smiles, eats, dresses, talks and kisses on the big screen - such a wonderful young actor." And lots of you were very nearly as keen. Anyway, this week's Face Off is a rather more sporting affair. Last week's battle of the Hollyoaks hunks was fought to the death, but James Sutton eventually managed to stick it to Guy Burnet, polling 230 votes to his co-star's 214. You'll never catch me wavering on my definition of what's needed for a good movie. The first thing, the most important thing, is a good screenplay. The second thing is good performances. Together, they can cover up a whole lot of problems. So when I read in The Hollywood Reporter that the crime thrilla Bone Deep will star Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen, my first thought was, "Jesus, they better have a really good script."
The pair of actors, neither of whom will soon be mistaken for Olivier, join a cast that already includes Matt Dillon, playing "a hard-boiled detective" and Chris Brown, T.I. and Idris Elba. Walker will play the leader of a group bank robbers whose $20 million get-rich scheme is foiled by Dillon and a wet-behind-the-ears sleuth played by Christensen.
Bone Deep was co-written by its director, John Luessenhop, and is currently in pre-production.

Despite all reason, despite all logic that values talent and virtue, despite every critic and moviegoer who has begged that he just disappear, Hayden Christensen still has a movie career. For that matter, Paul Walker, a bland pretty face who I can't distinguish from Jesse Metcalf and Channing Tatum, still has a career as well. Even worse, the two are teaming up to terrorize us with their mediocrity in Bone Deep, a Screen Gems thriller that seemed pretty mediocre on its own, without the help from these two. The Hollywood Reporter says that Christensen and Walker will be part of a team of criminals with a plan that will net them $20 million, until a detective (Matt Dillon) gets in the way. Chris Brown, T.I. and Idris Elba round out the cast, making it a complete bunch of people who you'd either forgotten existed or don't deserve movie careers in ...

Rachel Bilson insists it is normal for actors to date their co-stars - after she fell in love with Hayden Christensen on the set of Jumper.
The former O.C. star met the actor while they were making the 2008 action movie and they soon started dating.
Bilson was also romantically involved with Adam Brody while they were both starring in the teen drama series. They split in 2006.
And the actress is convinced that if you work with someone everyday, it is easy to fall for their charms.
She tells New York Post magazine PageSix, "They say don't date your co-star, but that's who you're around. If you're in an office, and you see someone everyday and you click well, you'll start dating. It's the same thing."
And she adds of Christensen, "I have someone really great. Someone who can make me laugh - that's always what comes first. It's the best to be able to really, like, truly laugh with someone like they're your best friend, you know?

Two actors in need of a career rennaissance are Paul Walker and Hayden Christensen. Once considered to be two of young Hollywood's hottest properties, both have seen a significant decline in relevance and work. Once the king of the galaxy as young Vader, Christensen has been relegated to the role of that guy who's banging Rachel Bilson, while Walker is running scared back to the fast and furious glory days. Fittingly, the two have decided to join forces in an attempt to regain their places...
