Cricket fan Jerry Lewis returns to voice two characters in the new animated version of The Nutty Professor, based on the 1963 Jekyll and Hyde spoof in which he starred. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lewis will provide the voices of the main characters, nerdy prof Julius Kelp and his suave, Casanova-type alter ego, Buddy Love. Drake and Josh star Drake Bell provides the voice of Harold Kelp. In the 1960s, Lewis starred in, wrote, directed and produced a series of films for Paramount. The rights to several, including The Nutty Professor, returned to him, allowing him to license the rights to Universal for the 1996 Eddie Murphy remake and its 2000 sequel, Nutty Profesor II: The Klumps. Evan Spiliotopoulos is writing the script for the project, basing it on the original 1963 film. His credits include the upcoming Disney direct-to-video comedy Tinker Bell. The players: Director: Deb Hagan, Writers: Dan Callahan, Adam Ellison, Cast: Andrew Caldwell, Drake Bell, Kevin Covais, Alona Tal, Camille Mana
Facts of interest: Yeah, it's the Kevin Covais from "American Idol."
The plot: Three high school seniors don't know what they are in for when they visit a college campus to get drunk and get laid.
Our quick thoughts: This year’s summer season at the movies is coming to an end, and to thank us for rushing to some of the biggest blockbusters instead of spending our time lying by the pool, studios are now quickly and quietly releasing a bunch of trashy flicks not many of us really want to see. Well, thanks!

Hey, everybody, it's a Labor Day clearance sale! We gotta get rid of these leftover summer movies before the fall models come in! Quick, anybody in the market for a rip-off of Superbad? All it's missing are the likable characters and the good performances! Oh, and the comedy. The comedy fell off in the warehouse. But hey, it's got boobs! That's worth something, right? Anyone? Hello?
You might guess that a film with the uninspired title of College would be lame and derivative, and you'd be right. This laugh-free debacle is the story of three high school seniors who visit a university for a "preview" weekend in the hopes of learning more about the campus, but mostly in the hopes of participating in the legendary college parties. The normal kid is Kevin (Drake Bell), whose girlfriend has just broken up with him.

The schlock merchants responsible for College should be grateful that it opened on the same day as Disaster Movie. In any other week, the risible teen sex romp would walk away with the prize for most pathetic excuse for a comedy. Yet insulting audiences with College and Disaster Movie on the same weekend threatens to split the lucrative, undiscriminating dumb-ass demographic. A film that threatens to give gratuitous nudity, profanity, and rank stupidity a bad name, College casts Drake Bell of Nickelodeon's Drake & Josh (you can probably guess which one he plays) as an uptight high-school senior whose girlfriend dumps him for being boring. Eager to prove her wrong, Bell heads to a local college for a Dionysian weekend alongside McLovin wannabe Kevin Covais (rapidly burning off the 15 minutes in the spotlight his turn on American Idol afforded him) and hard-partying fat slob Andrew Caldwell, who appears...

Making his feature film debut through teenage comedy "College", former "American Idol" finalist Kevin Covais will bare more than just his acting skills. The fifth season contestant who was nicknamed 'Chicken Little' has confessed that he will be seen taking off his clothes in one of the movie's scenes.
"I strip down to my underwear in the movie," the 19-year-old told MTV. He further joked about the appeal of his daring performance suggesting that it should be used for the promotional of the Deb Hagan-directed film. "Seriously, they should put that on the poster," he said. "See me stripped down to my tightie whities - how can people not go?"
Speaking out more about "College", he deemed that the adventures he faced in the movie are insane. "It really pushes some boundaries," he claimed. "We do body shots off of a guy, I think people are going

Jeffrey Nachmanoff directs and writes the story alongside Steve Martin and adapts the screenplay. The drama is produced by Don Cheadle, Key and Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman and Jeffrey Silver. "Traitor" goes up against spoof comedy "Disaster Movie," Mathieu Kassovitz's "Babylon A.D" starring Vin Diesel and the comedy "College" with Drake Bell, Andrew Caldwell, Kevin Covais, Nick Zano and Zack Cregger. Also seeing theatres this weekend is the Weinstein Co's romantic comedy "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" helmed by Woody Allen and starring Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Patricia Clarkson, Kevin Dunn, Rebecca Hall and Chris Messina.

There are two things that stand out about the new comedy College:
1) Most movies about the college experience have roughly the same sense of humor, although their execution varies wildly.
2) There are a lot more breasts than I expected.
Since the days of Animal House, the rules of college flicks really haven't changed all that much. There's debauchery, pranks, drunkenness (separate from the debauchery), skewered authority figures, arrogant frat boys who can neither spell nor adequately prepare for comeuppance, heroic geeky figures, and women.
There's never been a college comedy since Animal House to do it as well, but they still try. College's attempt is slightly different, but only in the smallest detail. You see, instead of college students experiencing the endless kegger, we have high school students on a college campus. It's

Not too long ago I downloaded all the stills and information for this week's MGM release, College. However, I did nothing with it because, let's face it, this movie looks pretty stupid and I wasn't going to give it any kind of serious attention. Then I realized Laremy needed to have this thing in the database in order to do his Box-Office Oracle article at the end of the week. As we all realize there are enough idiots out there in this world to possibly give this film a $6-8 million opening. That is if the geniuses that go to see Disaster Movie feel like making it a double feature weekend. So, after I added the movie, the pictures and the trailer I realized I needed to add the cast and director. Guess what, I only had two of them in the database. No worries, hop on over to the

The stars of Nickelodeon's hit show, Drake & Josh, are reuniting for a new TV movie. The movie, the third based on the TV series, will be titled Drake & Josh: Best Christmas Ever and is set to air during the holidays later this year.
The Drake & Josh TV show enjoyed a successful run on Nickelodeon, beginning in January 2004. The show focuses on two teenage boys (played by Drake Bell and Josh Peck) who become step-brothers after their parents decide to marry. Though they have their differences, the boys eventually become good friends, often teaming up against Drake's quick-witted younger sister, Megan (Miranda Cosgrove). The show ended on September 16, 2007 after four seasons and 60 episodes. It was one of Nickelodeon's highest rated series for kids 2-11.

Miley Cyrus added two new trophies to her prodigious collection Saturday as the Hanna Montana star was voted favorite TV actress and favorite female singer at the Kids Choice Awards, broadcast by Nickelodeon channel. The show, which originated at Ucla's Pauley Pavilion, attracted more than 10,000 fans, mostly teen and preteen girls. Drake Bell also was a double winner, for favorite TV actor and favorite TV show, Drake and Josh. Ryan Seacrest accepted the award for best reality show for American Idol. The award for favorite movie went to Alvin and the Chipmunks, which was accepted by Jason Lee. Host Jack Black said that 88 million votes were cast online this year versus about 40 million last year.

Miley Cyrus and Drake Bell reigned supreme at the 21st Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday, scooping two prizes apiece.
Hannah Montana star Cyrus, 15, took the favourite TV actress and favourite female singer gongs on a night that saw Harrison Ford, Cameron Diaz and Orlando Bloom drenched in green slime - as part of the ceremony's traditional ritual.
Heartthrob Bell picked up two prizes - favourite TV actor and favourite TV show for his sitcom Drake And Josh - at the Pauley Pavilion event, which was hosted by funnyman Jack Black.
One of the biggest prizes of the night, the 'Wannabe' award for a celebrity who acts as a good role model for children, went to actress Cameron Diaz.
She used the honour to promote environmental issues, telling the young audience, "You're going to change the world. Every one of you kids is the future - go out and make the world a better place."
Prior to the event, rumours began to surface that Britney Spears was lining up a surprise appearance at the ceremony. However, the rumours failed to materialise.
Other big awards went to Johnny Depp, for favourite movie actor; Jessica Alba, for favourite movie actress; Chris Brown, for favourite male singer; and the Jonas Brothers, for favourite group.
American Idol scooped the favourite reality show gong; the Harry Potter series was named the favourite book winner, and Alvin And The Chipmunks won favourite movie.
However, the night was more about the anarchic fun on offer. As well as a goo-covered Ford, Diaz and Bloom, R+B star Akon crashed a vehicle into a slime container, and Usher fired the sticky solution at a sumo wrestler from a cannon.
Meanwhile, supermodel Heidi Klum was in the thick of the action, flying from the roof on a bungee cord and popping balloons en route to ground level.
Jack Black told the crowd over 88 million votes had been registered for the 2008 ceremony - more than twice last year's record-breaking 40 million. The night ended with Black and Bloom swinging in mid-air and being drenched in what the School Of Rock star claimed was "27 million gallons" of green slime.
The main list of winners is as follows:
TV show - Drake and Josh
Reality show - American Idol
TV actor - Drake Bell
TV actress - Miley Cyrus
Movie actor - Johnny Depp
Movie actress - Jessica Alba
Female singer - Miley Cyrus
Male singer - Chris Brown
Group - The Jonas Brothers
Book - Harry Potter series
Movie - Alvin and the Chipmunks
Voice from an animated movie - Eddie Murphy, for Shrek the Third.

Craig Mazin's Superhero Movie benefits from timing and low expectations. Had it been released 10 years ago, it probably would have been dismissed as second-rate Zucker-brothers silliness. Then came Scary Movie and the cinematic plague of Epic/Date Movies. Suddenly, thanks to the Wayans brothers and comedy antichrists Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg, standards for genre parodies plummeted to such unspeakable lows that Superhero Movie can now be warmly embraced as second-rate Zucker-brothers silliness. Nobody expects spoofs like this to be funny or clever, let alone satirical: It's enough if they aren't soul-crushing or egregiously awful. By those exceedingly lenient standards, Superhero Movie is a rousing success. It helps that Superhero is a fairly faithful, coherent parody of Spider-Man, with Drake Bell in the Tobey Maguire role of a clean-cut teen who develops superpowers after an unfortunate incident with a dragonfly. Christopher McDonald co-stars as Bell's arch-nemesis, a wealthy,...
