Glamour Magazine celebrated their 2008 Women of the Year in NYC last night bringing out the stars in black and white. The honorees included Tyra Banks, Nicole Kidman, Hillary Clinton and more. Never mind that Leo guy. When it comes to hot costars, Kate Winslet prefers a more mature man. "Eli Wallach is my very own Sexiest Man Alive!" Winslet gushed Sunday night at a gala honoring her friend and fellow actor Wallach, 92. "The truth is," she told guests at Tavern on the Green in New York, which included Wallach and his longtime wife, actress Anne Jackson, "Annie, if I had been around 60 years ago, you would have had some tough competition!" Winslet, 33, attended the 80th anniversary gala dinner for the famed New York acting school, The Neighborhood Playhouse, to give an

Jeremy Piven used his Emmy win on Sunday to advertise his next big acting role - on Broadway.
After picking up his third successive acting award for his role in TV hit Entourage, Piven took a camcorder into one of the star-studded Los Angeles after parties - where he told celebrity pals about his forthcoming role in David Mamet play Speed-The-Plow.
In a staged skit, which appears on Will Ferrell's website Funnyordie.com, Laura Dern, Mary Steenburgen, Jamie Foxx and Seth Meyers all warn Piven against taking to the stage.
When he tells Dern and Steenburgen he came from the theatre, they say, "Don't go back." Foxx tells him, "Don't do theatre. Theatre is so, so not hot." And Meyers goads him by joking, "Anyone can do a play. It's what they do at school."
Piven starts his run in Speed-The-Plow on 3 October.

After the highs and lows of the Emmys show the party really got started. For many, the first stop was the Governor's Ball like Heidi in yet another gown before the other bashes. Some were off to the ET/People bash while others went to hear Samantha Ronson spin at Kress nightclub for the TV Guide soiree. Lindsay Lohan came along for the ride and acted as a pillow for Samantha after a long weekend of gigs. Best Dressed candidate Hayden kept posing pretty before tonight's big Heroes return. The Mad Men folks had a lot to celebrate making history with their Best Drama Series win. In the press room the cast were clearly loving every second of it taking photos of each other on their iPhones, Jon Hamm pretending to light a cigarette as an homage to the Don Draper inside him while January Jones talked about how the

The ladies were bursting with color and sparkle at last night's Emmy Awards. Christina Applegate looked positively radiant and was the talk of the night — smiley, happy and healthy. Mary Louise Parker was the most eye catching of all in her bright blue number though you all were fairly divided on the look while Brooke Shields lived up to the name of her show in Lipstick pink. Heidi Klum went dramatic while Eva Longoria was all tied up in a bow with Tony on her arm. Debra Messing was one of Fab's best dressed but what do you think? Newcomer to the awards Mad Men's January Jones is a showstopper already and Buzz and I were lucky enough to catch up with the cast in the press room after the show's big win for Best Drama Series‚ check out all the winners here. Just like every year in the U.S., the first Christmas flicks start hitting theaters in November already (don't ask me why). One of them this year is Seth Gordon's "Four Christmases," in which Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon play a couple struggling to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.
Although this trailer did not really win me over, I have to admit Vaughn and Witherspoon look like a solid enough team to handle this kind of cheap screwball comedy. Robert Duvall, Jon Favreau, Mary Steenburgen, Dwight Yoakam and Sissy Spacek co-star. "Four Christmases" opens Nov. 26, 2008. Enjoy the preview just above.

If there's a number in a film title you've got a sequel, right? Not necessarily, unless Oceans 1 through Oceans 10 came out on some obscure underground label I've never heard of. The trailers are getting all mathematical on our collective ass this week, and each of them (sort of) sports a number in the title.
It happens every year. The first time I see a sign of the coming holiday season I cringe. I like Christmas fine once it gets here, but being forced to think about it in September is asking too much. Anyway, this is actually a TV spot, which is appropriate since it sounds like the plot was lifted from a sitcom. Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are playing a couple who, thanks to a canceled flight to Fiji, are forced to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day. Pretty wacky, huh? This

Director: Adam McKay
Screenwriters: Adam McKay, Will Ferrell
Starring: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Jenkins
Running Time: 98 mins
Certificate: 15 As teammates in Nascar comedy Talladega Nights, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly were like two peas in a pod, together venturing to places so far off the wall they might as well have been racing airplanes. They trade on that brotherly bond in their latest collaboration, which is also directed by Adam McKay. It finds them doing largely the same routine, only without the hotrods. In fact there is nothing at all flash about Brennan Huff (Ferrell) or Dale Doback (Reilly), both of whom, at 40 years old, have yet to fly the nest. Brennan lives with his obliging mother Nancy (Mary Steenburgen) while Dale sponges off his irascible dad Robert (Richard Jenkins). For each of them, life revolves around junk (more)

The film, presenting a story about a boss who forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her Visa status in the U.S., is directed by Anne Fletcher, a choreographer/director who previously worked with Zigman on Step Up. Scheduled to premiere on June 19, 2009, the film is produced by Mandeville Films and Touchstone Pictures. Zigman, one of Hollywood's busiest composers, also has Flash of Genius and My Sister's Keeper on his list of upcoming films.

The players: Director: Adam McKay, Writers: Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Cast: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Adam Scott, Mary Steenburgen, Kathryn Hahn
Facts of interest: None at all.
The plot: Two spoiled adults (Ferrell and Reilly) who still live at home are forced to live together as stepbrothers when their single parents get married.
Our quick thoughts: “Step Brothers” is exactly what you would expect from a raunchy comedy developed by the guys who brought us “Anchorman” and “Talladega Nights.” It’s incredibly silly and yet quite entertaining, boasting a bunch of hilarious as well as ridiculous moments that will only appeal to those who thoroughly enjoy the works of Adam McKay, Judd Apatow, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star as Brennan Huff and Dale Doback
Photo: Sony Pictures I went into Step Brothers with the idea that a movie based on 40-year-old men too stupid to live didn't deserve my attention. Such morons already dominate reality television and are slowly taking over the world as everything seems geared toward the idiots or the children. Believing I fall directly in the middle of that pile (perhaps slightly skewing more toward child) I can never connect or find humor in watching people portray stupid people for laughs. Stupidity, to me, isn't funny... it's stupid. Little did I know, outside of the two main characters in Step Brothers being stupid, everyone else in the cast is questionable as well. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star as Brennan Huff and Dale Doback respectively, two men still living at home with their parents. The story begins

Is a smart comedy better than a dumb comedy? There are great examples of both, and even Will Ferrell, the star of Step Brothers, shows up on both lists. Stranger Than Fiction is a smart comedy with a complex premise and an almost poetic ending. Talladega Nights is a dumb comedy in which Ferrell, at one point, learns to face his fear of getting behind the wheel again by driving through a neighborhood sitting inches away from a wild cougar.
Each approach has its merits, although dumb comedies almost always produce bigger laughs and higher ticket sales. There’s a reason people still buy Three Stooges memorabilia, after all: Because at the end of the day, most people just want to see a comedy that can make them laugh and help them forget the reasons

I thought I knew funny, but I was mistaken. Before the blessed light of "Step Brothers" entered my life, I knew not the sweet comedic splendors of live burial, bunk-bed catastrophe or a minivan family singing "Sweet Child O' Mine" in four-part harmony.
Will Ferrell plays Brennan ("You can call me . . . Nighthawk") and John C. Reilly is Dale ("Call me Dragon"), two unemployed full-grown manboys who each live with a widowed single parent.
