Eminem has said that he regrets his violent reaction to a comedy puppet at the 2002 MTV VMAs. In his new book The Way I Am, the rapper admits he trashed the backstage area at the event after he was mocked by Conan O'Brien regular Triumph The Insult Comic Dog. According to Entertainment Weekly, Eminem writes: "I'd been so busy touring and doing my own s**t, that I hadn't had time to watch TV, so I had no idea what that dog was. "My natural reaction was 'Get the f**k out of my face'... (more)

Brooke Shields stunned America when she swore during a live TV chat show on Friday night.
The actress was promoting TV show Lipstick Jungle on Conan O'Brien's Late Night show when she lost her cool while recalling a row she had with a taxi driver.
Shields explained her cab driver couldn't understand where she wanted to go as she was rushing to get to a recent New York function, and when she tried to show him the address on her iPhone, the man kicked her out of his taxi.
She explained, "He shoved my hand back and said, 'You get outta my cab, you f**king crazy person.'"
A startled O'Brien said, "Woah... This isn't the story you should be telling."
Shields continued the story by revealing she refused to leave the cab and pretended to act crazy, so the driver would get her to her destination quickly.
She added, "I did not stop talking like a crazy person... He kept jamming to slap me up against the plastic (glass behind him) but because I'm strong and I'm a New Yorker, I grabbed on."
The actress paid the cab driver and gave him a tip, but when she refused to close the door as she got out, the commotion between the driver and herself prompted a nearby cop to get involved.
Shields went on, "I said, 'Do you really think that I'm the one with the problem...?' He (cop) closed the door and I walked away. I thought I was going to be arrested. It was so harrowing."

Rebecca Romijn showed off her very visible baby bump after grabbing lunch at Mr. Chow in La yesterday. She had a big smile on her face, despite her husband Jerry O'Connell putting his foot in his mouth on national television earlier this week. The actor called his pregnant wife "huge" during a visit to Conan O'Brien, which was followed by a public apology and promise of flowers a few days later. Considering how fun-loving these two seem, we have a feeling any hurt feelings are already over and maybe Jerry even learned a lesson about women before his two little girls arrive. Flynet

Responding to the public mock that Russell Brand made during the MTV's VMAs on their purity rings and sexual moral, Jonas Brothers said they weren't upset at the British comedian. The trio, who were in England promoting their Disney movie "Camp Rock," even expressed their praise for him, calling him "hilarious."
Brand, who served as a host at the awards show on Sunday, September 7, poked fun on Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas, and Kevin Jonas for more than half of the show over their vow not to have sex before marriage, marked by the purity rings they're wearing. His negative remarks on the brothers have provoked negative reaction from some other celebs, including Jordin Sparks, Paris Hilton and gossip blogger Perez Hilton, all of whom have shown their support for the siblings' sexual commitment.
Aside from the pros and cons, Jonas Brothers have shown their positive attitude towards Brand. During a

Actor Jerry O'Connell has publicly apologised for poking fun at his pregnant wife Rebecca Romijn's growing baby bulge on a late-night U.S. chat show.
The former child star appeared on Conan O'Brien's show on Friday night and was gushing about impending fatherhood, but he feels he went too far when he stated his wife was "huge".
In a statement released on Monday, a red-faced O'Connell said, "I regret calling my wife 'huge' on Conan O'Brien.
"I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologise to her and will be coming home with flowers."

Forgive and forget? That seems to be the Jonas Brothers' attitude toward Russell Brand. Another batch of presenters are announced in anticipation of the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards. Among the new names lined-up for the TV appreciation event are "My Own Worst Enemy" star Christian Slater, TV host Conan O'Brien, and Kate Walsh of "Private Practice".
On top of all the names mentioned, there will also be paired appearances by comedians Kathy Griffin and Don Rickles as well as TV stars Neil Patrick Harris and Kristin Chenoweth. The latter couple had been tapped to announce the nominees of the awards back in July.
"As we near the telecast, there will be more sets of presenters that will surprise almost everyone," said Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich. "We are pleased to have such comedic figures as Kathy Griffin and Don Rickles presenting together. In addition, we are excited to re-pair Kristin Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris together, as the chemistry they displayed at this year's Primetime Emmy nominations was just terrific.

David Letterman, who bolted NBC when he was passed over to succeed Johnny Carson on the Tonight show, has suggested that NBC brass may have had his example in mind when they agreed to hand over hosting duties of the show from Jay Leno to Conan O'Brien next year. In an interview appearing in Rolling Stone magazine, Letterman has kind words to say about his rival. "I don't know why, after the job Jay has done for them, why they would relinquish that. ... I guess they thought it was a less messy way to handle what happened to me at NBC," Letterman said. He said that he hopes to have Leno on his own show as a guest "the first night that he is out of a job." Leno is due to make his last appearance on the Tonight show on May 29. However, Letterman expressed doubt that the changeover will actually occur. "It just seemed so preposterous to me." As for whether he himself will continue to host his CBS show after his contract expires in 2010, he said, "The way I feel now, I would like to go beyond 2010, not much beyond, but you know, enough to go beyond. You always like to be able to excuse yourself on your own terms."

Despite their on-air rivalry for the past 15 years, David Letterman is displaying empathy for Jay Leno – given the way NBC is showing the Tonight Show host the door, to be replaced by Conan O'Brien on June 1, 2009. "Unless I'm misunderstanding something, I don't know why, after the job Jay has done for them, why they would relinquish that," the CBS Late Show host, 61, tells Rolling Stone in excerpts made available to the Associated Press and The New York Times. "I guess they thought it was a less messy way to handle what happened to me at NBC. I don't know." Asked

The smart money's on ABC.
That's the consensus that emerges when you talk to TV industry types about where Jay Leno will go after he turns "The Tonight Show" over to Conan O'Brien.
Why? Because ABC has the most to gain by hiring Leno and plunking him down between Letterman and Conan at 11:35 p.m.
With Leno, ABC has a once-in-a- blue- moon opportu nity to suddenly seize the lead in late- night after decades of play ing also-ran to NBC and CBS.
But what of "Night line" and Jimmy Kim mel, you ask?

Television critics were left scratching their heads when Jay Leno, disguised in a bald cap and fake goatee, showed up as a reporter at a news conference for NBC executives Monday but did not ask any funny questions. (A few reporters even wondered aloud whether the odd-looking man was actually Leno.) "When is Leno's last show?" Leno asked. NBC Co-chairman Marc Graboff replied that it would be next May 29 and that Conan O'Brien would be taking over on June 1. A moment later, a real reporter asked, "What's going to happen ... when Leno goes to ABC and kicks Conan's ass?" NBC Co-chairman Ben Silverman eventually explained,"The point that we want you guys to take away from Jay being here is that we have a great relationship with Jay Leno. ... We've had an unbelievable business with Jay and are continuing to work with Jay and we're looking for a way that he could remain part of the family."

Mark your calendar - 311 days left for Jay Leno.
It's official. Jay Leno's last night as host of "The To night Show" will be Friday, May 29, NBC announced yesterday.
Conan O'Brien will take over the following Monday, June 1, in what is shaping up as the biggest transfer of TV star power since Leno took over from Johnny Carson in 1992.
NBC officials say they still believe that Leno can be convinced to stay with the network in some capacity - but they don't have much company.

Jimmy Fallon's takeover as host of NBC's Late Night will be preceded by nightly preview performances on the Internet beginning in the fall, the show's producer, Lorne Michaels, told the Television Critics Association tour in Beverly Hills Sunday. Michaels said that he plans to produce a live, 5-10-minute show that will be posted at 12:30 a.m. every night, the same time that Late Night airs, "so people will begin to look for Jimmy at that time." NBC is expected to announce today (Monday) the exact date that Conan O'Brien will take over the Tonight show from Jay Leno and Fallon, the Late Night show from O'Brien.

We've always known fork-tongued publicists of pop stars routinely lie about their clients to hide the ugly truth about their mental and physical health - and now there's proof straight from the inside.
In "When I Grow Up," out this September, popular indie rocker Juliana Hatfield writes that her severe depression was swept under the rug by her p.r. machine. Hatfield, an MTV fave with "Spin the Bottle" and "My Sister" who also has appeared on Conan O'Brien's show, says that on the eve of her mid-'90s European tour,

Conan O'Brien had on John McCain this past week and besides being a pretty good sport with a fake falling asleep moment, McCain sat back and had a laugh while Conan played a "what if" scenario if there were a TV movie to be made about McCain's vice presidential selection process. With the upcoming release of Oliver Stone's W. I foun it interesting how much more Snoop Dogg looks like Condoleeza Rice than Thandie Newton, who will be playing Rice in the film, does. Check out the vid below, it's mildly entertaining.
