A sequel to the George Miller directed animated flick Happy Feet is getting ready to start production and, according to The Age, will be made at a new digital production facility in Sydney. The 2006 movie featured the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Hugo Weaving, Anthony Lapaglia, Miriam Margoyles and Nicole Kidman and was set in world of the Emperor Penguins, who find their soul mates through song. It followed a penguin who cannot sing, but who expressed himself through dance. The Age says the new digital production facility is expected to provide a significant boost to the local movie industry, which has been criticized for a lack of investment in recent years. The production will employ an average of 438 people over three years, which will include 230 computer-generated imaging artists. The project still hasn’t been officially announced and it's unclear if Miller will return to direct,

Last week, we reported that Fox's venerable TV show, King of the Hill, had been cancelled after 13 seasons. The animated series has slipped in the ratings and the network has other animated series like Mitch Hurwitz's Sit Down, Shut Up and Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show waiting in the wings. In what seems to becoming a growing trend of TV shows jumping networks, the Mike Judge co-created King may find life on another channel.
King debuted in 1997 and tells the story of blue-collar Hank Hill and his family and friends from Texas. The series stars the vocal talents of cancelled TV show veterans like Judge (Beavis and Butt-head), Kathy Najimy (Veronica's Closet), Pamela Adlon (Lucky Louie), Stephen Root (NewsRadio), Brittany Murphy (Sister, Sister), Toby Huss (Carnivale), David Herman (Futurama), Ashley Gardner (The Drew Carey Show), and Lauren Tom (Men in Trees).

In a somewhat surprising move, the Fox network has decided to cancel one of the staples of its Sunday night line-up. On the eve of Halloween, the King of the Hill TV show has been cancelled after 13 seasons on the air.
King of the Hill follows the animated adventures of the Hill family from the small town of Arlen, Texas. The family's patriarch, Hank (Mike Judge), is a propane salesman who's obsessed with his lawn and the Dallas Cowboys. His well-meaning wife Peggy (Kathy Najimy) holds several part-time jobs and together, they raise their husky teenage son, Bobby (Pamela Adlon). Other characters include niece Luanne (Brittany Murphy), neighbor Bill (Stephen Root), and conspiracy-lover Dale (Johnny Hardwick).
The series debuted on January 12, 1997 on Fox and quickly became a staple of the network's animation line-up. Having survived to produce over 240 episodes, King has become the second longest-running animated series, following The

On the heels of The Beast with a Billion Backs comes the third installment of the four Futurama direct-to-dvd films in Bender's Game. It's difficult to take these movies in as "movies" because they all feel like three or four episodes strung together (in fact, that is how they will be released on Comedy Central later this year) but they all seem to have a central storyline or element that runs through the entire feature and ties everything up in the end. For this film, that element is the Dungeons and Dragons.
The film starts off as the younger of the Planet Express staff (Cubert, Dwight and friends) are geeking out in a game of D&D and acknowledge that Bender was built without an imagination (really?). This comes back later on in the film for a bit of a Wizard of Oz-like twist in which the whole crew gets sucked into Bender's imagination.

While Frank Miller was in Rome to introduce Will Eisner's comic strip adaptation "The Spirit", he got the chance to speak out a little bit about his other project "Sin City 2". Though refusing to spoil any details on the "Sin City" sequel, he revealed to BadTaste.it that the project is close to be started.
In a Q&A session, he said, "I cant' talk about my projects, because I don't believe a movie is real until I see the title on the screen. There are many things that can go wrong." He then added, "But I can tell you that I'm very close to begin Sin City 2 with Robert Rodriguez. We have to arrange a few things and we'll be back in action."
The second film adapted from Miller's graphic novel of the same title, "Sin City 2", reportedly will based on the second Sin City story

In February, Brittany Murphy signed on to star in the noir thriller Across the Hall, and now you can check out a trailer for the film above. It's supposed to be a thriller about a man, his fiancee, and his best friend, and it is, but there are also a whole lot of mixed messages thrown in for good measure.
While the plot seems like your typical love triangle -- girl cheats with lover's best friend, lover chooses to kill best friend and live happily ever after -- there's a whole slew of horror techniques that are either misleading or hinting at some big, supernatural twist. The hotel and the room across the hall are described as if they're filled with ghosts or other ghoulish things, instead of just a jealous fiance. Quick cuts merge with eerie voice-overs, but while some sort of big

The independent thriller project produced by Insomnia Media Group, "Across the Hall", has unveiled a sneak peek into the movie starring "Just Married" actress Brittany Murphy, "Cloverfield" actor Mike Vogel and television actor Danny Pino through a brand new trailer. The trailer presents compilation of clips aimed to help movie lovers to grasp what the movie is all about.
The trailer is set to have the tone of a horror movie in the sense that it displays only glimpses of scenes accompanied with the appearing words across the screen explaining what should be expected. From the looks of the trailer, the movie will be taking place in a hotel named Riverview and in room 508. Though the footage let out doesn't exactly give out a clear explanation about the story line, it still helps to get the background plot.
Simply described to be telling the story of a standoff between a young man,

The first direct-to-dvd Futurama movie, Bender's Big Score, sagged under the weight of audience expectations and the pressure to shoehorn every beloved minor character into a coherent 90-minute narrative. So perhaps it's best to think of the disappointing Big Score simply as a warm-up, a way to shake off the rust that inevitably accrues when a beloved cartoon franchise lies dormant for four years. Good news, everyone! With The Beast With A Billion Backs, the sleeping, nerdy giant that is Futurama truly awakes to kick ass. Beast's twisty plot finds the perpetually lovesick Fry infatuated with a foxy new girlfriend (voiced by Brittany Murphy) who unfortunately can't be limited to just one man. Or two. Or three. At first, Fry doesn't mind being part of a male harem, but he quickly grows disillusioned. Meanwhile, an interdimensional rift unleashes an enormous, powerful, space octopus-like creature (voiced by David Cross) intent...

Brittany Murphy has been dropped by Disney movie studio executives from the forthcoming Tinker Bell film, according to online reports.
Murphy, 30, was hired in 2006 to provide the voice of Tinker Bell in an upcoming animated film about the beloved Peter Pan fairy, but has since allegedly been replaced by 19-year-old Mae Whitman.
Murphy's acting career has stalled in recent years, with the Clueless star receiving more press attention for her personal life - including her 2007 secret wedding to Simon Monjack - than for her film roles.
No explanation was given by Disney for Murphy's departure.
