'Alvin and the Chipmunks' Go to School in 'The Squeakuel'

13 November 2008 12:39 AM, PST | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

"Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel" will see the harmony singing chipmunks going to school and trouble coming in the form of the Chipettes. Talking to MTV News on Wednesday, November 12, co-producer Ross Bagdasarian Jr. reveals that the boys will get one interesting "out of water" experience. "The boys will wind up going to school for the first time," so he says.

Admitting that the sequel will present a different part of the boys, the son of the man who created the famous singing chipmunks further adds on what the boys will be dealing with in school. "They go to a combined middle school and high school, so there's all kinds of [human] kids around them," he explains. "You know, kids in the beginning can be cruel, so those first few days are a little bit tough for the boys."

Beside dealing with new challenge in school, the boys will also

Cinematical Seven: When Talking Animals Attack

2 October 2008 8:02 PM, PDT | From Cinematical.com | See recent Cinematical news

I grew up reading Charlotte's Web and watching Mister Ed and the Francis (the Talking Mule, with Donald O'Connor) movies on TV, so I have a very warm spot in my heart for talking animals. They can inspire wondrous flights of fantasy, lift the spirits with good-natured humor, and lead to a deep and abiding respect for nature and the environment.

Of course, watching the Yogi Bear cartoons once made me think I could take on a black bear foraging for food at our family's camping site in Yellowstone National Park -- I was six years old and had to be physically restrained -- so I can see the down side as well. Still, dozens of animated films have made it abundantly clear that it's possible to lend human voices to the animal kingdom without dumbing the material down to idiocy and, when done right (Babe, Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey,

'Earl' Creator Talks About the New Season and His Conflict with Alec Baldwin

18 September 2008 11:30 PM, PDT | From buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news

Earlier this month, a war of words broke out between 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin and My Name is Earl creator, Greg Garcia, who easily retorted after Baldwin spoke of NBC’s promotion of Earl, or lack thereof.  Garcia responded by saying that Baldwin was “unlikable” and a “psychotic narcissist.” Baldwin replied and called him a Scientologist, while Garcia’s last words were in the lines of “you are an idiot.”

Meanwhile, Garcia recently spoke to Monsters and Critics, saying that “when you create and run a show, you have a family here, and we all work very hard to do what we do.  And as the head of the family, I would never take the first punch but if you get hit you come out swinging.”

Jason Lee, who stars as the titular character, added that “What really happened was I’m friends with Alec Baldwin.  I told him to

It's a girl. The announcement, made while standing outside in a very damp Rockefeller Plaza (it is raining in New York), even seemed to surprise Today regulars Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Ann Curry. 7 May 2008 11:50 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Jason Lee loves working with his My Name Is Earl co-star Jaime Pressly - because she is constantly swearing on set.

The actor loves it when the 30-year-old explodes into a string of expletives because it makes her 'normal'.

He tells British magazine Maxim, "Jaime's as straightforward as they come, she's like, 'Oh f**k that, goddamned c**sucker this and f**that.'

"She's like a hardcore southern chick and she tells it as it is."

'My Name Is Earl' kicks off the return of NBC's comedies

2 April 2008 6:35 AM, PDT | From TheWatcher | See recent The Watcher news

It's good to see fresh episodes of comedy – fresh episodes of anything – returning to the broadcast networks. (And for info on what'll happen in the next few weeks on "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Scrubs," go to the end of this item.)

My Name Is Earl,” which comes back 7 p.m. Thursday on NBC, is celebrating with an hourlong episode called “I Won’t Die With a Little Help From My Friends.”

I’m generally inclined to give the show a pass – see the above statement regarding my happiness at comedy’s return. But I do wonder about what’s happened to “Earl” since it premiered.

“Earl’s” always been on the bawdy side and has frequently edged toward eyebrow-raising racial humor, but it seems as though it’s gotten more coarse and crass over its three seasons. I look back at delirious yet whimsical Season 1 episodes like “Joy’s

They're back! The details on what happens when your favorite shows return

25 March 2008 9:55 AM, PDT | From TheWatcher | See recent The Watcher news

In April, dozens of scripted shows will return to the broadcast networks. Thank goodness! Though I've already posted details on the returns of "The Office" (here and here) "30 Rock," "Ugly Betty" and "House," I thought I'd collect all the information I have in one place.

First, here's a chronological list of return dates (to see the return dates sorted by network, go here).

Second, for those who want more than just return dates, I've got details on what will happen on many shows, in addition to the ones mentioned above, on the second half of this item.

If you don’t spot a favorite show on either list, by the way, be aware that some programs aren’t returning until fall, and the fate of several others has not been officially announced yet. There's more info on what's returning in the fall here.

Lee Bemoans Life With Moustache

24 March 2008 4:59 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee is slightly begrudging of the comedy TV series' success - because he's "sick" of sporting his character's trademark moustache off set.

The actor, who is currently shooting season three of the popular show, has to undertake meticulous pruning procedures to keep his facial hair in shape, and he admits he is growing tired of the process.

He says, "I gotta tell you, sometimes I regret the idea of having one for the show. It's a pretty damn good moustache but it's a commitment, you know?

"Once a week I have to get the clippers and trim it. I'm kind of sick of it now because filming Earl takes seven months of the year. Plus it's more recognised than I am!!"

'The Office' and 'Earl' get ready to return

18 March 2008 6:59 PM, PDT | From TheWatcher | See recent The Watcher news

It's been approximately 87 years since NBC showed a new episode of "The Office." Not that I've been keeping track.

Ok, seriously, the last fresh episode of the comedy aired Nov. 15, which technically qualifies as forever ago. So it was cool to come across a little information on what will happen when the show returns April 10.

But before I get to that, here's a bit more info on Nbc's comedies: "Scrubs" and "30 Rock" return April 10 also. "My Name Is Earl" returns with a two-parter April 3, and NBC Universal Ceo Jeff Zucker will provide an allegedly "insightful recap" on what's already transpired on "Earl," according to Nbc's press site. I cannot wait for that Zuckeriffic moment! Also, Alyssa Milano and a tabloid celebrity (no, not Britney) are guest stars when "Earl" returns. There's more on all that below.

I'm trying to find out what will happen when "30 Rock" returns April 10, but that
