Brit Radcliffe Visited Polling Booths

5 November 2008 4:17 AM, PST | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe headed to the U.S. polling booths on Election Day - even though he wasn't allowed to vote.

The British-born actor, 19, is currently starring in Broadway stage show Equus - and although he wasn't eligible to vote, he made sure he could soak up the atmosphere by tagging along with one of his American co-stars.

Millions of U.S. citizens, including celebrities like Tim Robbins, LL Cool J, Lindsay Lohan and Pharrell Williams, queued for hours to log their votes at the ballot box - with Democrat Barack Obama eventually being announced as the new president.

And Radcliffe was delighted to have witnessed the monumental scenes at the polls near New York University.

He tells the New York Post, "Barack Obama's treated like the Messiah in England.

"We don't have particularly inspirational politicians, certainly no one who can draw crowds in the thousands."

Janet Jackson Pulls Off Connecticut Show

31 October 2008 1:18 AM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Janet Jackson's "Rock Witchu" performance at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut has been officially scrapped off. "Mohegan Sun regrets to announce that the concert featuring Janet Jackson has been officially canceled," the statement issued by the venue reveals.

In a further explanation, it is also announced that the show, which was originally set for October 11 but had to be canceled due to Jackson's migraine ailment, will not be re-scheduled due to alleged poor ticket sales. Thus, all Jackson's fans who purchased tickets for the gig can ask for refund at the point of purchase.

Previously, LL Cool J decided to pull himself out of Jackson's tour due to unnamed scheduling conflicts. In addition, at her latest stop at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit on October 28, she dropped her raunchy routine of inviting a male audience onstage and caressing him in private places because of the region's strict state laws.

She is also expected to announce more dates for her postponed gigs due to a rare form of migraine.

Previously, Jackson blogged a video message thanking her fans for their support during her ailment. "I'm getting ready to start the show and I just want to say hey to all Jermaine's 'Living the Life' YouTubers. I want to thank you for all your messages and all

Having Wyclef Jean, who also provides backing vocals for LL Cool J on the song, as a cameo, the music video gives a look at America's recent political issues and reveals questions that the rapper wants to ask to the current and forthcoming presidents.

Along with a scene where a mother cries over her son's death on a war, LL Cool J raps, "Mr. President, are you aware/our flesh and blood is dying over there/when the coffins come back." The rapper also questions the head of the country at the verses saying, "Do you care/when only the poor kids die, is it fair/Don't get me wrong I respect the flag/but it hurts to see a kid in a body bag/he fought for his country with all he had

15 October 2008 12:17 AM, PDT | From NYPost.com | See recent New York Post news

Janet Jackson is setting her fans up for another disappointment. Insiders say Jackson, who canceled her Sept. 29 show in Montreal because she fell "suddenly ill," will also pull out of scheduled shows in Washington, DC, New Jersey and Atlanta this week. Since Montreal, Jackson has scrubbed 10 concerts, "all at the last minute," said our source. "Janet should cancel all her dates now, so that fans and those working on the tour can have a heads-up." The only future show she's canceled so far is tomorrow's Madison Square Garden performance, which was moved to Nov. 1. Live Nation,

7 October 2008 9:34 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Becoming the subject of long persistent speculation that she's lesbian, Queen Latifah determined not to discuss her sexual orientation in public, telling The New York Times' Alex Witchel in an interview over the weekend, "I don't care if people think I'm gay or not". On her determination, she explained, "I don't feel like I need to share my personal life. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."

"I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life," the 38-year-old star told the magazine. "You don't get that part of me. Sorry," she added. "We're not discussing it in our meetings, we're not discussing it at Cover Girl ... nobody gets that."

Latifah has long been rumored to be dating her personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins. They were even reported to be planning to make their union official following the

Mary-Louise Parker's Daughter Has Good Taste in Boys Already

5 October 2008 7:00 AM, PDT | From Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news

Mary-Louise Parker and LL Cool J took some time out earlier this week to visit The Today Show and read to children attending Jumpstart's Read for the Record event in New York City. The actress and her little friend waved for the cameras on a break from the book. Mlp has two kids of her own, but apparently her on-screen son Hunter Parrish is basically family at this point too. She said of their relationship, "He's a part of my life. We text each other. He spent Thanksgiving at my house, he comes every year. My daughter goes to the set, and the first thing she says on set is 'Hunter.' She's looking for Hunter." Considering our feelings about Hunter we understand where Mary-Louise's daughter is coming from. Source

Dancing with the Stars (ABC) 8:00 PM EDT

It's time for the week's second elimination and... well, I'm pretty sure Lance Bass will be safe until the competition gets a little stiffer. (I'm really liking his partner Lacey Schwimmer after that inspired "Close to Me" quickstep.) For the moment, I'm more worried about getting a few more weeks of entertainment out of Cloris Leachman.

19 September 2008 9:00 AM, PDT | From Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news

Jessica Simpson gave it her all last night at the Nina's Night Out Concert at the Palms' Pearl Theater in Las Vegas. The concert raised money for Vegas's Rape Crisis Center, and Jess spoke about being "blessed" to have the opportunity to inspire other women predicting it would be an especially passionate performance given the cause. She also talked about her man, "Tony is a great quarterback, but he's a better boyfriend. . . . I'm seriously proud of myself for letting him into my life." The singer has a lot to be proud of lately — Do You Know debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's country chart! She also debuted at No. 4 on their Top 200 chart, something LL Cool J wasn't too happy about. Jessica is "extremely touched" and "thrilled" by the support of her fans and we are glad to see that she's found her niche. To see more photos of Jess belting

Janet Jackson Performed X-Rated Show in Los Angeles

19 September 2008 12:49 AM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

During her live "Rock Witchu" concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center on September 17, Janet Jackson delighted fans with her onstage raunchy performance. The concert goers went wild when she pulled a man from the audience, tying him to a wooden frame and caressed him in private places.

At one point, the singer was also seen lowering on top of the man while he was slowly laid down on the stage. The audience was left open mouthed when on the concert's LCD screens, the man was seen whispering, "I Love You, Janet."

The "Feedback" singer kicked off the tour in Canada earlier this month to promote her current effort "Discipline", which has been available for purchase since February. As a headlining act was rapper LL Cool J while former Spice Girls' member, Geri Halliwell, Janet's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, and Queen Latifah were sitting on the audience.

The gig featured 38 songs,

Queen Latifah Hopes to 'Mess Fans' Head' With Lesbian Album

12 September 2008 10:11 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

In a recent interview, Queen Latifah admits that she considers to call her upcoming eight studio album "The L Word". Asked for the reason, Latifah says that she wants to "mess with people's heads" concerning the latest rumor saying that she is a lesbian and has an affair with Laila Ali.

Instead of busting the rumor, Latifah says jokingly that the "L" word can stand for "love" or, just as what people think, "lesbian". She explains as saying, "L was gonna stand for love though or La. Since people want to play games, I like to jab back sometimes just for fun."

For her future project, the New Jersey singer states that she will return to her rap root by working with LL Cool J and Dr. Dre. "Dre helped me write some stuff. He wrote some stuff with me and Ludacris wrote a record for me," Latifah says.

A week after his new single "Lie" leaked, another new song called "Hold Up" from Nelly's long-awaited album "Brass Knuckles" has surfaced. Featuring T.I. and LL Cool J, the single carries "three different styles from two different eras with all confidence in one."

Featured guest stars to be lined up in the album include Ashanti, Pharrell Williams, and Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie. Meanwhile, "Bay", a bonus track in the forthcoming album, has been featured in the first episode of "Entourage"'s season 5.

LL Cool J Removes 50 Cent From 'Exit 13'

9 September 2008 12:30 AM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Among his collaborators, including big names The-Dream, Fat Joe, and Richie Sambora, Rap mogul LL Cool J decides to scrap off 50 Cent from his long list. "I'm not releasing the album he and I were working on. I took a few songs for (new album) 'Exit 13' and scrapped the rest," he says.

When asked for confirmation, the rapper reveals his anxiety about fans' response concerning their first-ever collaboration. "That's due to the fact that I don't think people want to hear me rhyming like 50," he explains as saying.

"Feel My Heart Beat" is a song in which he teams up with 50 Cent and it was strongly rumored to be the first single in "Exit 13". As the removal announced, some claim that the song may be dropped from the album and replaced with The-Dream-featuring tune called "Baby", which was originally planned as the second single.

50 Cent's publicist hasn't given any statement yet.

Casting: Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer and Michael Caine

8 September 2008 12:02 PM, PDT | From Cinematical.com | See recent Cinematical news

These people just landed a part in a movie and you didn't:

Sorry boys, but Jessica Alba has officially become a math nerd. Oh yes, Variety tells us the actress has signed on to star in An Invisible Sign of My Own, based on the book by Aimee Bender. Marilyn Agrelo (Mad Hot Ballroom) will direct the flick, which follows a woman who becomes obsessed with numbers and math ... and then lands a gig as a second-grade math teacher. Hot, steamy gratuitous love-making scene not included.

Val Kilmer has decided he needs more action in his life, as the dude has hopped onboard the crime thriller Fake Identity for Nu Image/Millennium Films. The film, to be directed by Dennis Dimster-Denk (or Triple D, as I like to call him), tells of a doctor (Kilmer) who, while working in Chechnya, helps a woman escape from her would-be assailant and then

The Men Get Dapper in Black and White for VMAs

8 September 2008 3:03 AM, PDT | From Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news

They may not get to be as colorful, but the men managed to keep things interesting at the VMAs. Chris Brown was a stand out having a blast on the red carpet handing out hugs to all his friends he ran into along the way like Lupe Fiasco who was gearing up for his big performance. Chris Brown's performance last year still has people gushing, but the topic of the night was Britney. Everyone was super excited to see her hit the stage again, well, other than Kid Rock who made it very clear that's not why he was looking forward to the show. In fact, he told us he was most excited just to see which performers lip-synced versus actually singing. Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado schmoozed their way down the press line while Cisco Adler and Schwayze talked a big game about their secret upcoming movie project and their crazy summer touring.
