'CSI: NY' Actors Take an Active Role in Society

CSI: NY’s fifth season is well underway and fans are enjoying the appearances of guest stars on the highly acclaimed police procedural on CBS.  Guest stars this season range from rapper Nelly to former American Idol finalist Chris Daughtry to Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruice Willis and Demi Moore.  As the current season of CSI: NY is airing, the actors of the show took some time off to tend to some personal matters, which include supporting a presidential campaign.

In fact, Hill Harper, who plays Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on the CBS series, recently spoke to Today to reveal his thoughts on presidential candidate Barack Obama, with whom he shares a 20-year friendship.

"[Obama is] intelligent, extremely pragmatic.  That’s the kind of leadership we need now.  Everything that was great about him at Harvard Law School is still great about him now," Harper says of his former schoolmate.  "Anyone who meets

CSI New York: Catching Up with Melina Kanakeredes and Executive Producer Peter Lenkov

Fans are indeed buzzing about the recent revelation about Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap) having a child.  In fact, executive producer Peter Lenkov admitted to CSI Files that “the idea of a baby felt very organic, and would allow for us to develop these characters even further.  I think we all want to see these characters grow and mature, and this felt right.”

As for those who want a little drama in the form of Danny’s other love interest, Rikki, Lenkov says that “The storyline did indeed change [because of the pregnancy] but don't write off Rikki just yet.”

Moreover, don’t expect some flowery happy ending for Danny and Lindsay especially as the baby comes around because Lenkov warns, “What’s drama without drama?  I believe it will be the first [baby] for the franchise, and our heroes will just have to juggle parenthood and their jobs. It'll be fun to write.

Preview of 'CSI: NY' 5.03: Turbulance

Video promo for episode 5.03 of "CSI: NY" has arrived. Presenting the episode where R 'n' B star Nelly is taking a part as a guest star named Terrence Davis, it previews the episode when Mac Taylor deals with a mile-high crime scene.

Entitled "Turbulance", the episode will take Mac on a flight to Washington D.C., but shortly after the plane takes off, it has to be grounded. A body of a dead air marshal is found in the plane, making everybody on board the flight to be the suspects for the murder. Now, he has to find the clues and the murder weapon to solve the new case.

"Turbulance" will be aired on October 8 at 10:00 P.M. Et/Pt on the CBS Television Network. It stars Gary Sinise, Melina Kanakaredes, Carmine Giovinazzo, Hill Harper, Eddie Cahill and others. Penned by Sinise Matt and Jeremy Littman, the episode is directed by Earl Beesley.
