Watch a funny new clip entitled “No Child Left Behind” from David Alan Grier’s “Chocolate News” from Comedy Central. “In Living Color” alum and Tony Award-nominee David Alan Grier adds a new flavor to Comedy Central with “Chocolate News,” an outrageous, character-driven sketch magazine series with an hilarious take on pop culture events that makes no apologies for its biased approach. The series will take on a variety of contemporary topics from a decidedly African-American perspective and everyone and everything is fair game. The series stars David Alan Grier who, in addition to serving as the acerbic, all-knowing, in-studio host, will also portray multiple characters within the series’ investigative reports, which will be presented by a cast of three correspondents. The only puppet show I ever watched regularly on TV was Crank Yankers, which was quite possibly one of Comedy Central's most juvenile original series. The show featured puppets making prank phone calls to various stores, featuring the voices of celebrities such as Sarah Silverman, Wanda Sykes, Adam Carolla, Jimmy Kimmel, Dane Cook, and David Alan Grier. Considering that I could only remember one puppet show that isn't aimed at young children, I was surprised to see the number of puppet shows online. Even more surprising was that they all had the exact same problem- they're not very funny. If I had to guess, I would say the average age of a person who finds them entertaining is probably 14, which is unfortunate considering how much work has gone into some of these series. There were lots of Emmy after parties to choose from last night, but big winners Stephen Colbert and Sarah Silverman remained true to their network at the Comedy Central Party at STK. It may not have been the most star-studded bash, but judging from the laughs Stephen brought to the press room, there must have been plenty of fun to go around. Sarah and Kanye were red carpet absentees, but considering the boring show reviews, and reportedly really low ratings partying into the wee hours was probably a better time anyway. Lots more pics including Stephen, Sarah, Kanye and David Alan Grier so read more. Images include: Stephen Colbert, Sarah Silverman, Kanye West, Niecy Nash, David Alan Grier Source
