"Supernatural" is preparing one very sweet Valentine's Day episode by casting a Cupid. Casting call has been released to find a man in his 30s or 40s to play the role of "doughy, out of shape, naked" angel of matchmaking.
They want to portray the Cupid as a humorously loving character who "greets everyone with enormous bear hugs that almost break their ribs." He is required to be "overflowing with love and positivity to an almost humorous and narcotic degree". To provide more insight of what kind of person they want, the casting directors specifically wanted someone like Will Ferrell in "Elf".
Cupid will be a guest star in the episode called "My Bloody Valentine". Beside Cupid, the episode also requires an actor for Famine. He is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who is withered, weak, raspy. This character is a creepy and destructive old man filled with a voracious hunger. »

At the New York premiere of Peter Jackson's "The Lovely Bones", actor Mark Wahlberg told Showbiz 411 that there are two seasons left of HBO's hit series "Entourage". He said there could be more, but then there will be a movie. Looks like the executive producer plans on taking the same route as "Sex in the City" which also started out as a popular original series on HBO and has now become a world-wide box office success after a motion picture was released a few years back. Currently, there's a sequel in the works. Meanwhile, Wahlberg is shooting the comedy "The Other Guys" with comedian Will Ferrell. “I don’t really get to do comedy,” Mark said. “We waited for just the right thing. It’s a buddy movie.”

Here at Boxwish, we don’t like to play favourites, electing one film, movie star or product as superior to all the others and yet sometimes it can be tough to maintain such principles. Just take Zooey Deschanel (easy boys!), the actress has snagged the likes of Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell and Joseph Gordon-Levitt with her offbeat charms onscreen, impresses with her musical talents (she performs with jazz act, If All The Stars Were Pretty Babies and has sung in many of her movies) and has a fashion sense to kill for, though thankfully, we’re not prepared to go that far. Yes, it’s fair to say we’re firmly lodged in Camp Zooey (if such a thing were to exist) and so we’re taking a leaf out of her style book with her vintage blue coat from Yes Man. »

Will Ferrell wants to be Simon Cowell. The 42-year-old American comedian confesses it's his dream role to play the British reality show judge in a film.

"It wouldn't be that hard for me to play him because I see a lot of Ron Burgundy in Simon Cowell."

Who knows where it came from exactly, but Oobermind, a title that at least sounds like a quirky bit of fun, has been replaced by the more starched-shirt Megamind. It seems minor, and that's the point. Why would you quibble over half the title? Change the animated supervillain flick to something else completely, but to make such a cosmetic switch makes me think there are too many boardroom meetings going on with this one.
The name change comes as Thq and DreamWorks announce a gaming contract for the property and the rest of the movie studio's line, a new bit of business Slashfilm caught wind of. There's no explanation for the change, but it's not the first one: Robert Downey dropped out of the project and was replaced by Will Ferrell. Bit of a step back, that, as is this wholly uncreative name change.
Here's the official synopsis, as featured »

Why does simpler always mean better? Yes, it.s spelt über and not oober, but I.d bet the vast majority of people could understand the title Oobermind. The news came across in a press release announcing the studio.s new deal with the game company Thq. That release also had an updated synopsis: When super villain MegaMind (Will Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the world should be his oyster. But instead, MegaMind falls into total despair. It turns out that life without a rival is life without a point for him. So, he creates a new superhero rival, Titan (Jonah Hill). Unfortunately, the new hero wants to be a super villain, too. Caught in the middle, star »

Will Ferrell wants to play Simon Cowell in a movie of his life. The comedy filmmaker would “love” to portray the music mogul on big screen because he is convinced there are huge similarities between Simon and his fictional news reader character Ron Burgundy from the film "Anchorman." The Anchorman actor has claimed his greatest ambition would be to portray the X Factor and American Idol judge on the big screen
Some might say the past couple of years have proven fallow ground for Will Ferrell compared to early successes in the likes of Anchorman and Zoolander, but the Us comic may just have rediscovered his mojo. In an interview in today's Sun he touts himself as the perfect choice to play Simon Cowell in a biopic of the reality TV kingpin.
Ferrell claimed, possibly tongue in cheek, that it was biggest ambition was to play the creator of X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, who also appears on American Idol in the Us.

Having moved past lost dinosaurs, Will Ferrell wants to take on the biggest, modern dino of them all -- music mogul Simon Cowell. WENN reports that Ferrell's dream project is to play the American Idol judge in a feature film: "I would love to play Simon Cowell in a movie -- heck, I would love it. It would be my dream role." The actor drew similarities between Cowell and his previous character, one Ron Burgandy: "It wouldn't be that hard for me to play him because I see a lot of Ron Burgundy in Simon Cowell. Like Simon, Ron was the biggest thing on TV, loved himself -- they are like long-lost twin brothers separated at birth."
Then again, this is probably nothing more than news disregarding inflection and comedy. Ferrell followed the talk up with discussing how he'd prepare: "It would be fun getting into character as well. I »

Last night it was announced that Dreamworks Animation had signed a deal with video game company Thq. In the press release, a new name was listed for the upcoming 2010 superhero comedy Oobermind. The new title will be MegaMind, which off the bat is not only a lot easier to say, but gets the point across quicker. The original working title for the film was Master Mind. In August, Robert Downey Jr had dropped out of the project, and was replaced by Will Ferrell. Dwa's supossed answer to The Incredibles is sounding more and more Dreamworks-like every day, and that's not a good thing. The new release also gives the film an updated plot synopsis: When super villain MegaMind (Ferrell) defeats his archrival Metro Man (Brad Pitt), the world should be his oyster. Actor and sometime screenwriter Danny McBride has risen to the top of Hollywood's comedy food chain, having handily stolen scenes from Ben Stiller ("Tropic Thunder") and Will Ferrell ("Land of the Lost"), and become the headliner of his own series as washed-up baseballer Kenny Powers on HBO's "Eastbound & Down," a series he helped conceive. McBride's success is deserved, though he certainly gets by with a little help from his friends. Long before he was the "thug life"-lovin' drug supplier in director David Gordon Green's "Pineapple Express," he served as a second unit director on Green's 2000 arthouse breakthrough "George Washington." And he wouldn't have had a cameo in Jody Hill's "Observe and Report" if he hadn't co-wrote and starred in Hill's indie cult fave "The Foot Fist Way" as a renegade Taekwondo instructor who beats up kids.
Momentarily ditching his usual partners in crime, McBride can next be »

Will Ferrell has his dream role in mind: "American Idol" judge and co-creator Simon Cowell.
The comedian says Cowell is the embodiment of Ferrell's character in the 2004 comedy "Anchorman:The Legend of Ron Burgundy."
"I would love to play Simon Cowell in a movie," Ferrell tells UK newspaper The Sun. "Heck, I would love it. It would be a dream role. It wouldn't be hard for me to play him because I see a lot of Ron Burgundy in Simon Cowell."
Hmmmm... larger than life, self-absorbed, blustery television personalities? Okay, we'd buy that. Ferrell's next step, he says, is to spend plenty of quality time with Cowell.
"Come on Simon," he tells The Sun. "You know it would be fun. I could spend some time shadowing you. We could spend time in your mansion in high trousers and black round-neck Ts just being rude to people, it would be great."

Hollywood actor Will Ferrell has found his "dream role" - he wants to play Simon Cowell in a biopic of the music mogul's life.
Ferrell admits he's become transfixed with the American Idol judge, and he's hoping to find a script that will allow him to bring his 'Mr Nasty' impersonation to the big screen.
He says, "I would love to play Simon Cowell in a movie - heck, I would love it. It would be my dream role. He's become a legend in five years, nobody knew who he was five years ago and now he's one of the most famous people on TV."
Ferrell is convinced he would be the perfect choice to play Cowell in a film, because he can see similarities between the TV star and his character from 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Like Simon, Ron was the biggest thing on TV, loved himself - they are like long-lost twin brothers separated at birth. It would be fun getting into character as well. I would walk along the street and say, 'Hey, you're too fat to be a star,' or go to a concert and shout out to the artist, 'Never gonna happen.'"
The comedian has even issued an appeal to the talent show judge to consider him if there is ever a Simon Cowell film in the works: "Come on, Simon. You know it would be fun. I could spend some time shadowing you. We could spend time in your mansion in high trousers and black, round-neck tees just being rude to people, it would be great." »
