Back in April, shock-jock Howard Stern was one of the random SAG members picked to be a part of the guild's nominating committee for their award ceremony. As The Wrap reports, approximately 4,200 members get picked (about 10% of the membership), and this year, Stern found his way in 12 years after he starred in the movie of his life -- Private Parts. Not surprisingly, Stern has made a show of it, saying: "I'm going to take this seriously, and reward our friends. I don't give a s*** if they were good or not." SAG spokesperson Rosalind Jarrett reiterates that the committee is "charged with nominating what they believe are the outstanding performances of the year," but Stern has other plans.
"I don't care if they're good actors, who gives a f*** if someone can pretend to be somebody?" So, Stern's picks include Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes, Kevin Bacon and Renee Zellweger »

Howard Stern is making waves today for filling out his Screen Actors Guild nominations during his morning radio show—and explaining that his votes are going almost exclusively to actors who appeared on his show. “I'm going to take this seriously and reward our friends. I don’t give a shit if they were good or not." That's good news for Jimmy Fallon, who got Stern's nod for his performance as Hot Tub Johnny Rocket in Whip It , notes the Wrap . Not so much for Robert de Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, or Larry David. "I don’t care if they’re good actors," said... »

Hey, SAG Awards. This is what happens when you pick your nominating committee members randomly.
Not only did Howard Stern get in on the party this year, but -- no surprise -- he's abusing his privileges.
The radio host says he's using his slot to only vote for people who have appeared on his show.
“I'm going to take this seriously, and reward our friends. I don’t give a s--- if they were good or not,” Stern announced on his radio show this ... »

Sirius chief executive Mel Karmazin offered a sneak peek this week into upcoming contract negotiations with Howard Stern.
Karmazin was part of the Reuters Media Summit – a closed-door event peppered with media CEOs, but one in which only Reuters reporters are allowed access.
“It will start with Howard feeling that he is working too hard and doing too many shows and not making enough money,” Karmazin said. “Our side would say, ‘We want you to do more, and get l... »

As Charred Walls Of The Damned prepare for their self-titled debut album out February 2nd 2010 – the group is gearing up for their official release by unleashing a “radio spot” created by Richard Christy himself. The “radio spot” that is now being streamed via the band's MySpace page features clips of the first single Ghost Town, taken from the band's debut album, Charred Walls of the Damned.
Christy, as some may recall is a frequent affiliate of the Fangoria crew, most recently appearing at our Trinity Of Terrors event in Las Vegas last month.
"I am beyond excited about how the Charred Walls of the Damned album turned out. Tim, Steve and Jason all did an amazing job and I can't wait for people to hear it! The songs are super heavy and melodic at the same time, and I think my fellow Metalheads will be pumped when they hear the »

Oprah Winfrey in New York, December 8, 2008. Photo courtesy of Patrick McMullan Company, Inc. Although she has not yet said so explicitly, it’s pretty obvious what Oprah Winfrey has in mind. She announced today that she will end her syndicated daytime powerhouse The Oprah Winfrey Show in September 2011 in order to focus on her new TV venture, the Oprah Winfrey Network (Own). While, according to The New York Times, “Ms. Winfrey made clear to her staff members that she will not transfer the show to cable,” she’ll be squandering what is by far Own’s greatest asset unless she has some kind of program that viewers can tune into day after day to see her face. Whatever shape that show takes, the rest of the programming schedule will be built around it. The strategy calls to mind two prominent examples. First there’s Howard Stern, who was given a »

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at the Cinema Society and D&G Twilight screening. From PatrickMcMullan.com. Studio execs, talent, and agents would likely agree that the hysteria surrounding Robert Pattinson is virtually unprecedented in Hollywood, so it's not surprising that other celebrities haven't really been able to give the Twilight star advice on how to handle fame. "I mean, everyone knows it's so kind of separate—everybody has such a different experience," Pattinson said yesterday evening at the Cinema Society and D&G screening of New Moon in New York City. "I guess pretty much everyone universally says, 'Try to remember who you were before.'" Last night, Pattinson, a notoriously quiet 23-year-old from southwest London, also ignited a fit of feverishness rarely witnessed among Manhattan's upper crust. After all, New York City is a town where well-heeled party guests usually refrain from turning to see whom is being »

Taylor Lautner was loyal to his wolfpack at the New York premiere of New Moon on Thursday night. Asked if vampires or werewolves were sexier, Lautner told EW: "That's a hard question. They're sexier in different ways. But, I mean, I'll stay true to the pack. I'll go werewolf." Score one for Team Jacob. Lautner -- and his co-stars including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz -- continued the promotional whirlwind for New Moon at a Big Apple screening hosted by The Cinema Society and D&G. The stars might have been relieved that the »

Back in 2007, our own Christopher Campbell (who's back on staff, baby!) told us that, back in 2006, a third Jackass film seemed like a sure thing in the wake of Jackass: Number Two. Steve-o told Howard Stern then that they'd begin shooting at the start of 2008...
Cut to 2009, and the Paramount slate for 2010 in our inbox happens to list a Jackass 3-D, with a release date to be determined. Johnny Knoxville and company don't seem too busy of late, and even with the eye-popping added dimension, this sounds like a relatively cheap production to give the go-ahead to. If Wikipedia is to be believed (I know), Bam Margera confirmed in a much more recent interview for a Finnish newspaper that filming would begin this January around the world.
Since there's really not all that much else to report on this yet, let me just assure you that my pals »

Rosie O'Donnell hid her split from partner Kelli Carpenter for two years.
The lesbian actress-turned-talk show host recently confirmed the couple had separated during an appearance on Howard Stern's U.S. radio show, revealing the pair had "come to a point where we are seeing (if) what will make everyone happiest is maybe to not live together" - for the benefit of their four children.
O'Donnell initially denied rumours suggesting Carpenter had actually left the marital home back in 2007 - but she came clean during her own Sirius radio show last week (ends13Nov09).
During a conversation about her pet Chihuahua Misty, O'Donnell said, "What happened (was) when Kelli moved out two years ago, I got the dog. Because I wanted another child or something to love. And I got the dog."
O'Donnell and Carpenter married back in 2004. »

We’re all seen it: a guest on a TV talk show makes some outrageously bigoted or factually incorrect statement about Glbt people — and the host, who surely knows better, stays absolutely silent, leaving the impression that the statement is either (a) accurate or (b) part of acceptable discourse.
But there’s one bright, shining exception: that kind of thoughtless bigotry never goes unanswered on a talk show hosted by Joy Behar – whether it’s on the long-running female chat-fest The View or the new Hln show The Joy Behar Show (which airs at 9 Pm Et/Pt on Hln). When Joe the Plumber recently said gays can’t be trusted around children, Joy demanded he explain himself.
Even when the interviewee isn’t anti-gay, gay issues frequently come up when Joy is in charge. She had ex-Mormon and Oscar winning Milk screenwriter Dustin Lance Black on recently to talk about gays in the Mormon Church. »

It seems like there's a glut of new talk shows these days. Last month "The Mo'Nique Show" debuted, this weekend "The Wanda Sykes Show" premieres, and two days later "Lopez Tonight" follows suit.
When Wanda described her new show in a recent interview, she said it's like "'The View' meets Howard Stern." Her weekly Saturday night series centers on a panel of colorful guests talking about current events. George Lopez says he'll set himself apart Monday through Friday, by doing the whole thing outside, with a street-party atmosphere. Shakira's band will provide the music for the standing (not sitting) audience members who will take turns playing the role of sidekick.
Mo'Nique's nightly combo talk/variety show became the top-rated program of the season for Bet by drawing 1.5 million viewers its first night on the air. Wanda and George are hoping they come out of the gate as strong as Mo'Nique did, »

Outrageous American comedian Artie Lange has taken aim at the producers of hit U.S. reality show Celebrity Rehab - insisting the popular programme exploits stars seeking help with their addictions.
A regular on shock jock Howard Stern's radio show, Lange was offered a spot on the series after years of publicly battling his own drug demons.
He pleaded recently guilty to driving under the influence of drugs in July, and confessed to police he had a prescribed sleeping pill in his system - but insists he is eight months sober from heroin and hasn't taken cocaine since 1997.
And now he's certain he made the right decision to get clean and sober without the help of Celebrity Rehab's Dr. Drew - because he questions if producers would jeopardise his sobriety for the sake of TV drama.
He tells the New York Post, "They offered me 200 grand ($200,000/£125,000) to do Celebrity Rehab. I love Dr. Drew... but I don't think that's helping (relapsed actor) Jeff Conaway... They said it was about me getting better, but if I relapsed, they're not going to air that? My mother knows I've done coke (cocaine), but she's never seen me do it." »

The former View host made the admission during an interview with DJ Howard Stern, in which she discussed that sex was not one of the reasons behind her rumoured split with partner Kelli Carpenter. How does one choose between Brad Pitt and Rosie O'Donnell? We're not sure we know (or want to know), but at some point Angelina Jolie was faced with that conflict. At least, according to Rosie. The talk-show icon blabbed to Howard Stern on Sirius Xm radio about a time before she was married to Kelli Carpenter and Angelina had tied the knot with Billy Bob Thornton. A romance, she claimed, was a-bloomin'. "She gave me her phone number," Rosie said. "We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that. There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through." Fear got the best of Rosie and she wasn't able to seal the deal. "I was a... »

Gay movie star and U.S. TV personality Rosie O'Donnell missed the chance to date a supermodel after failing to pick up love signals from Petra Nemcova when the stunner was a guest on her chat show.
The A League of Their Own star, who recently split from her wife Kelli Carpenter, insists she'd never date another celebrity - but she could have hooked up with the Czech beauty.
O'Donnell tells U.S. radio host Howard Stern her staff members made it clear that Nemcova, who has never confessed to being gay, was hitting on her - but the host was too focused on interviewing her to notice.
She says, "You would have to have a neon sign that said 'Rosie, I'm hitting on you' for me to get it... She did give me her phone number and we did talk on the phone a couple of times."
In the same interview, O'Donnell claimed she once almost romanced Angelina Jolie, but was too afraid of the actress to take up her offer of a dinner date.
She revealed, "We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that. There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through. I was a little afraid of her. She's scary in a sexual kind of way." »
