Movie Dress And No Bra Won Shepherd Moonlighting Role

9 September 2008 12:12 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Cybill Shepherd landed her lead role in TV hit Moonlighting thanks to a sexy dress she wore in an Alfred Hitchcock remake.

The actress reveals her look in The Lady Vanishes inspired Moonlighting's sexy Maddie Hayes character.

She tells WENN, "(Creator) Glenn (Gordon Caron) realised after writing the first 50 pages that he was writing it for me because of a dress I wore in The Lady Vanishes.

"I wore this one dress - they only made eight of them - cut out of silk satin, and I didn't wear a bra. My breasts were so much less versatile back then.

"I asked him why did he think of me for the part and he said, 'It was that dress, that dress.' He couldn't even remember the name of the movie."

Caine's Kissing Left Shepherd Cold

8 September 2008 6:55 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Cybill Shepherd has outed Michael Caine as her worst movie kissing partner, insisting he was a terrible onscreen lover if his wife wasn't on set.

The actress locked lips with Caine in Silver Bears and admits there was no chemistry between them - and the scene was awful.

Shepherd recalls, "He was terrible at the love scene, kissing me with his mouth closed. The director (Ivan Passer) said to me, 'Can you get him to loosen up, heat it up?'"

Weeks later, the couple shared another screen kiss - and it was much better, because Caine's model wife Shakira was watching off-camera.

The actress adds, "His wife Shakira was on the set and he did a great love scene then. I think it was better because you worry sometimes about what's gonna happen if you open your mouth in the kiss and your wife's not in town."

But Shepherd insists few actors have matched up to Moonlighting co-star Bruce Willis in the movie lovemaking stakes: "He and I had a lot of passion together."

Shepherd Haunted By Presley

31 July 2008 12:00 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Actress Cybill Shepherd is haunted by her ex-lover Elvis Presley - because she wishes she could have saved him from his destructive lifestyle.

Shepherd dated the late rock 'n' roll legend shortly before his death in 1977 from a heart attack. He had been addicted to amphetamines at the time.

And the Moonlighting star is often haunted by the vision of Presley as she believes she could have helped him beat his demons.

She says, "I don't feel him (Presley) in a way that I feel I have to call Ghostbusters, but I've been haunted by the sense that when I knew him, he was very sweet but also seriously into drugs.

"So I've been haunted by wishing he could have lived longer because I'm from Memphis and I've had the fame thing, too. Maybe I could have helped him."
