There's a new biopic finally gaining steam that hasn't been mentioned on Cinematical before -- HBO's Temple Grandin project. Back in August, Claire Danes signed on, and now The Hollywood Reporter posts that David Strathairn, Julia Ormond, and Catherine O'Hara have joined the cast.
Temple Grandin is a 61-year-old woman with autism known to be one of the leading voices in autism advocacy. As a child, she was derided by her classmates for being different -- nicknamed "tape recorder" because of her tendency to repeat things numerous times. But bursting out of that, Grandin went to college and eventually earned a PhD in animal science, ultimately becoming an advocate of humane slaughterhouses as well -- an ideal candidate to show both the struggles and successes that can come from autism.
A passion project that's been in the works for almost a decade, filming begins this month in Austin with Danes playing Grandin,

Julia Ormond, David Strathairn and Catherine O'Hara have apparently jumped onto HBO's Temple Grandin project which Mick Jackson is helming. Claire Danes stars as Grandin, a woman with the disorder who moved on to become one of the leading scientists in the handing of livestock in a humane manner. Christopher Monder and Merritt Johnson penned the screenplay. Ormond will play her mother, O'Hara will be her aunt and Strathairn takes the role of her scientist teacher at the university. Filming is said to begin this month in Austin, Texas. Strathairn was last seen in "The Spiderwick Chronicles" as well as an episode of "Monk." It's hard to believe that it's been a whopping 15 years since Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was released. The Buttercup-stealing Humperdink, or Chris Sarandon as Jack Skellington, Catherine O'Hara as Sally, plus a little bit of PeeWee and the wacky Greg Proops -- the days before Johnny and Helena were in everything Burtonesque.

Check out how they made the Haunted Mansion as a holiday tour led by Jack, the process of shooting the film, and finally, Tim Burton's original poem of The Nightmare Before Christmas, all funky and animated.
It's looking to be one heck of a great re-release. From seeing how Jack's version of the Haunted Mansion played out,

Actress Catherine O'Hara's big modelling break ended in embarrassment on Tuesday night, when the funnywoman took a tumble on the runway.
The 54-year-old Penelope star stepped out in style in her Canadian hometown for a special Toronto Fashion Week show to promote heart health awareness.
But O'Hara stole the show in an unexpected way by tripping on her long red Thien Le gown, reports New York website PageSix.com. After turning her fall into a comedy act, by sprawling on the stage, the star climbed back on her feet and finished her walk.
