More on Lisa Kudrow's appearance on Cougar Town

5 December 2009 6:30 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

It was bound to happen. We even wrote about it this past July. While a reunion show probably won't happen, it's always news when two cast members from the former hit sitcom Friends appear on screen together. In this case, it's Lisa Kudrow who will be guest-starring on Courteney Cox's sitcom, Cougar Town.

Of course, as a twist, they will not be friends in Kudrow's visit, but rather enemies. Kudrow plays a dermatologist that Cox's character goes to see. Will this be any different than Jennifer Aniston's appearance on Dirt playing a rival of Courteney Cox on that show?

First Look of Lisa Kudrow on 'Cougar Town'

3 December 2009 8:03 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

More than five years after they shared a screen together on "Friends" series finale, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox jumped onto the same wagon again on "Cougar Town". The first look of them in the half-hour comedy series has been shared, showing Cox's Jules being tended by Kudrow's dermatologist character.

One thing different this time, Cox and Kudrow did not want to play as friends. Executive Producer Bill Lawrence said, "She plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but [Cox] goes to her because she's the best. The [sight] of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny for me to watch."

The episode will be aired on January 6, the first one airing in the new year after the show takes a break for holiday season starting December 9.

Cougar Town First Look: Lisa Kudrow Guest Stars

3 December 2009 10:10 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

They spent a decade being friends on one of the most popular shows in TV history - but when Lisa Kudrow shows up on Cougar Town next month, she and Courteney Cox won't be yukking it up.

ABC has released the first photo from the January 6 episode on which Kudrow guest stars. She plays a doctor that, as producer Bill Lawrence tells Entertainment Weekly, pretty much sucks.

“They didn’t want to play friends,” Lawrence said. “[Lisa] plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but [Cox] goes to her because she’s the best. The [sight] of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny for me to watch.”

We have a feeling viewers will feel the same way.

TV Bites: Kudrow and Cox Reunite As Bitter Frenemies

3 December 2009 7:30 AM, PST | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

· Little love will have been lost when Lisa Kudrow reunites with her Friends colleague Courteney Cox in Cougar Town January 6. The show's creator Bill Lawrence has revealed that Kudrow "plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but [Cox] goes to her because she's the best. The [sight] of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny." Lawrence credits Cox and Kudrow for the idea. But maybe the real credit goes to Brad Pitt, who explored the same concept when he guest-starred on Friends as the bitter former classmate of Rachel Green, played by his then wife, Jennifer Aniston. First Look: Kudrow and Cox reunite on 'Cougar Town'

3 December 2009 4:58 AM, PST | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

There will be something conspicuously missing when Friends costar Lisa Kudrow guests on Courteney Cox’s ABC sitcom, Cougar Town, on Jan. 6: friendship. "They didn't want to play friends,” says executive producer Bill Lawrence, who quickly came up with a different role for Kudrow. "She plays a dermatologist who is a horrible, horrible person, but goes to her because she's the best. The of them playing people who dislike each other intensely was very funny for me to watch." If the execution is half as funny as the set-up, I think this is going to be a winner. What do you think? »

Hawkins and H.Macy Raise Juno Temple to be a 'Dirty Girl'

30 November 2009 1:32 AM, PST | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

According to the trades, Temple, Sally Hawkins and William H. Macy will join Abe Sylvia on his feature length directorial debut titled Dirty Girl - I may one day eat my words on this one, but I think Juno Temple will pan out to be a better Brit find than Carey Mulligan - she was a bright spot in the ordinary Mr. Nobody and I'm looking forward in American lingo garb in Gregg Araki's Kaboom and Noah Baumbach's Greenbern). According to the trades, Temple, Sally Hawkins and William H. Macy will join Abe Sylvia on his feature length directorial debut titled Dirty Girl. According to Screen Daily, the supporting cast is comprised of newcomer Jeremy Dozier and the already cast Lisa Kudrow. Courteney Cox Halts 'Cougar Town' Production Due to Family Matter

22 November 2009 8:20 PM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Courteney Cox is absent from filming her TV series "Cougar Town" to deal with family matter. On Saturday, November 21, a representative for ABC said in a statement, "We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter."

However, as of the press time, there has been no word on how ABC will anticipate the mother of one daughter's absence. The representative for the network also declined to comment on whether or not it had a contingency plan of shooting without her.

Though Cox is taking a leave from the show, the 45-year-old has shot some episodes to keep fans entertained until early 2010. She has completed at least three episodes. Two of the episodes will be broadcast on November 25 and December 9, 2009, while the remaining one is for January 6, 2010 airing. The January episode particularly will include Cox's former co-star in "Friends", Lisa Kudrow, »

'Cougar Town' Keeps Airing Despite Courteney Cox's Absence

22 November 2009 7:22 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

Courteney Cox is taking a leave from filming her new sitcom "Cougar Town" to attend to a family matter. "We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter," an ABC rep released a statement on Sunday, November 22.

Although what kind of family affair is not disclosed, ABC said that the absence won't affect the show immediately. Cox apparently has shot enough episodes to keep fans entertained until early next year. At least three episodes have been completed and will be aired on November 25, December 9 and January 6, 2010.

The January episode in particular is guest starring Cox's former "Friends" co-star, Lisa Kudrow, who will be playing a mean dermatologist that Cox's character keeps going to. It is still unclear whether ABC will anticipate Cox's absence with contingency plan of shooting without her.

Friends: Lisa Kudrow Doesn't Think Cast Reunion Will Ever Happen

17 November 2009 11:55 AM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

You've heard the rumors for years about why there will or won't be a reunion of our favorite Friends from the 1990s sitcom. Will Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer ever return to Central Perk? Don't count on it.

Kudrow recently spoke to Us at an event in Santa Monica and said that, like most of the cast, she's not sold on the need for a reunion. She said, "It would be fun, but I don't know. How? Why? Really?"

The actress also suggested that the Friends creators -- Marta Kauffman and David Crane -- are the ones who aren't all that interested in getting the gang back together. Kudrow had doubts that it would ever happen and said, "I guess they don't think it's a good idea."

Friends reunion update: it probably won't happen (but not because of the actors)

17 November 2009 10:30 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

So this is the 9,327th article that has been written about a possible Friends reunion. A lot of fans would like to see one but it seems that there have always been one or two holdouts that are preventing a reunion from taking place. But those holdouts might not be the actors themselves.

Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe) tells Us that a reunion, whether on TV or on the big-screen, will probably never happen because the creators (Marta Kauffmann and David Crane) don't think it's a good idea. Kudrow isn't sure how a reunion would work anyway, but she seems to be up for it if they can do something interesting.

Would you want to see a reunion? Friends is one of my favorite shows, but I'm wondering how they could do a reunion. Would it be the same without the old set (Monica and Chandler bought a house and Joey moved out to L. »

Lisa Kudrow doesn’t think there will ever be a “Friends” movie. The 45-year-old actress, who played kooky masseuse Phoebe on the hit show, believes a big screen reunion is unlikely because “everyone is busy.” The six regular cast members of “Friends,” Courteney Cox-Arquette, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Lisa – were made into global stars by the series, which ended in 2004. The success of the "Sex and the City" movie, based on the hit HBO series, suggests a Friends movie would do well. But... »

In the words of Chandler, we soooo didn’t want to hear this! Former Friends star Lisa Kudrow has put the brakes on the rumor that the cast was planning on coming together for a reunion. Celebrity Biography: Emma Stone

15 November 2009 9:21 AM, PST | PopStar | See recent PopStar news »

Emily Jean Stone, better known as Emma Stone, was born on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, the daughter of Jeff and Krista Stone, and the older sister of Spencer. Stone started acting at a relatively young age, appearing in a school production of The Wind in the Willows when she was just 11. Regional theater appearances followed and eventually, at 15, Stone convinced her parents -- using popcorn and a PowerPoint presentation, of all things, keyed to the Madonna song "Hollywood" -- to let her take a serious shot at acting, which meant relocating to Los Angeles. "I just always wanted to act from birth,” Stone told Saturday Night Magazine. "I think I was drawn to comedy originally because when I was really young, by the time I was eight, I had seen movies like The Jerk (1979), Animal House (1978), and Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) with my dad, and I knew them by heart. It's time to go back into the memory banks a little bit. Remember when Richard Kelly started Darko Entertainment back in September of 2007? The first movie slated to hit production was Dirty Girl, with this psychological thriller called The Box slated to be movie numero dos. Now we're about to see what Kelly has in store for us with his third film, and Dirty Girl vanished into the ether ... until now.

The Hollywood Reporter posts that the movie is still in the works -- now in the hands Ideal Partners, Killer Films, and Paris Film -- and has got its cast: Juno Temple, Sally Hawkins, William H. Macy, and Lisa Kudrow. Marking Abe Sylvia's feature directorial debut, the film focuses on "a high school tramp who runs away with the school's gay, fat kid in his homophobic dad's stolen car." Casting Notes: Michael Fassbender Fires A Single Shot; William H. Macy and More in Dirty Girl; Goth Icon Peter Murphy Cameos in Twilight 3

It's casting notes time again! First up, Michael Fassbender, the British film critic lieutenant from Inglourious Basterds, has been cast in the thriller A Single Shot, working under director David Jacobson. He's appearing alongside a great cast: William H. Macy, Thomas Haden Church and a newly slim Forest Whitaker. (Seriously, check out this pic of Whitaker in The Experiment. Give the guy a sandwich!) Fassbender will be a poacher on the run from killers -- we don't yet know the killers, but it's not difficult to speculate that Church and Whitaker might be the guys.[Variety] After the break, more William H. Macy news, with Juno Temple, and an on-the-nose vampiric turn from the guy who reminded us that Bela Lugosi is dead. Macy will also be in Dirty Girl, with a cast that now includes Lisa Kudrow, Sally Hawkins and Juno Temple. First-timer Abe Sylvia is directing the film about »
