Fake 'Twilight' Actors Looking To Make Out And Baseball's World Series In Today's Twitter-Wood

29 October 2009 4:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

"Twilight" actress Anna Kendrick has a clever friend who's not above impersonating an "Eclipse" actor to make out with unsuspecting prey, so next time someone walks up you at a club telling you they've been filming with David Slade recently, double-check IMDb. Slade, meanwhile, announced an "official" wrap to "Eclipse" filming yesterday, following last week's tweeted wrap by Christian Serratos.

Elsewhere in Twitter-Wood, Rob Zombie noted the passing of former Danzig drummer Chuck Biscuits with a memorial post. The World Series had much of Twitter's attention as Ice-t captured a picture from the stands and Paul Feig pondered the art sunflower seed spitting. You can catch all of that, a Dalek and Emmy Rossum's Ferragamo dress fears after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 29, 2009.

Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal Blu-ray Reviews

7 October 2009 9:02 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

For most people, just coming up with a cast of characters as wonderfully lovable as the Muppets - to say nothing of helping spearhead a pair of television classics as durable as The Muppet Show and Sesame Street - would be enough to justify an early and lucrative retirement. For Jim Henson, however, those feats only scratched the surface of his ambition, and by the early ’80s, the man who helped turn puppets from a sideshow trick into an art form was ready to try his hand at slightly more grown-up fare. The results were 1982’s The Dark Crystal and 1986’s Labyrinth, a pair of PG-rated fantasy films that connected the dots between The Muppet Movie and The Lord of the Rings. Neither film made much of an impression at the box office, but they’ve both acquired cult status over the years - and now they’ve both been »

Hugh Hefner, 50 Cent And Heath Ledger In Today's Twitter-Wood

7 October 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Everybody found somebody to take a picture with in today's Twitter-Wood feed. Ice-t was pal'n around with 50 Cent, Mary Lynn Rajskub from "24" saw her new co-star and former "Battlestar Galactica" actress Katee Sackhoff in the parking lot, and Nicky Hilton presented a shot of her and her sister Paris with Hef from last year.

In other posts, Jeremy Piven made it out to a screening of "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and reflected on Heath Ledger's final performance there. Check out all of those out below along with Sarah Silverman, a shocked Larry King and how many "Pootie Tang" residual checks is takes to pay for an espresso. It's in the Twitter Report for October 7, 2009.

[DVD Review] Labyrinth

7 October 2009 2:24 PM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Labyrinth may be the most heinous crime committed against the human mind at the hand of muppeteers. It’s not awful, it’s not even bad – it’s just a total mind screw from the first Bowie appearance on out. Who’s the movie really for? I still say it should be shown to children. The images in Labyrinth were and remain some of the most bizarre things a muppet has ever done. Bird-things dancing on their heads, a fox riding saddleback on a dog or a tunnel full of faces made out of hands – suspend your disbelief indefinitely, otherwise there’s no hope for you enjoying this one.

Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) wishes her parents would spend more time paying attention to her and not her infant brother Toby. Her fraternal resentment peaks when she’s left to babysit the runt as her parents go out for a night on »

There's No Place Like Blu-Ray For 'Wizard Of Oz,' In The DVD Report For Tuesday, September 29

29 September 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Rare is the occasion where the week biggest release isn't a new blockbuster but rather a septuagenarian, but that's the case this time as a young girl from Kanas eclipses anything New Hollywood has to throw at us. This is your DVD Report for Tuesday, September 29, 2009.

Since the advent of Blu-ray, studios have casually mined their catalogues for suitable re-releases, and while the results have often been notable, they're usually nothing to stop the presses over. But every once in a while, that little extra effort is made that blows something out of the water and we get something like MGM's timeless "The Wizard of Oz," which breezes into its 70th birthday with one of the best Blu-ray collections of all time.

Presented in a large hardbound rectangular case, the 70th Anniversary Edition of "Oz" comes as a three-disc Blu-ray set featuring a whopping 20+ hours of bonus content, and is »

New Twitter Avatars, Warwick Davis And A Busy Day For 'Eclipse' In Today's Twitter-Wood

18 September 2009 3:30 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Warwick Davis has only gotten cooler in my eyes since I started following his Twitter account. The "Harry Potter" and "Willow" star apparently set up a laser tag match this week with John Williams' "Star Wars" score playing in the background, which sounds like quite the celebration of sci-fi geekdom.

It was also a relief this morning to read that I wasn't the only one seeing little bird-shaped, multicolor avatars everywhere when I logged in to Twitter. Diablo Cody and Richard Kelly experienced the same thing with reactions similar to my own. If you know what I'm talking about, or want to find out, click on down below and read their posts, along with Peter Facinelli's exhausting end-of-day tweet from the "Eclipse" set and a Selena Gomez Alma Award pic for all you "Wizard of Waverly Place" fans. They're in the Twitter-Wood report for September 18, 2009.

Ted Kennedy Notes, Warwick Davis' 'Harry Potter' Casting Switch And Shaq In A Speedo In Today's Twitter-Wood

26 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Ted Kennedy's passing this morning certainly didn't leave the Twitter-Wood feed untouched. I made my best attempt to summarize the spectrum of reactions today some retweets from Elizabeth Banks and Kevin Nealon.

It was also a massive photo-posting day for some reason. And when it came down to choosing between Shaquille O'Neal in a Speedo and Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Conan" sword, which in now housed at his California office, the hairs of choice were not easily split. Click on down there, and you'll find both of them, along with Warwick Davis' commentary on leaving his role as Filius Flitwick to replace Verne Troyer as Griphook the Goblin in "Harry Potter in the Deathly Hallows." Also, the lovely Emma Roberts talks bikinis. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for August 26, 2009.

'Twilight' Actors Without Accounts And A 'Harry Potter' Star Who May Get One In Today's Twitter-Wood

12 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

From the first days of Twitter, fake accounts have been popping up on a weekly basis -- particularly for "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" actors. Peter Facinelli tweeted out loud and clear today that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart don't have Twitter names. Meanwhile, Tom Felton announced that following his success recruiting Warwick Davis, he may be close to convincing Daniel Radcliffe to come aboard.

There's plenty of room on the Internet for all of them if they make the move, but the Twitter-Wood feed's getting more and more crowded by the day. Virginia Madsen today became our first video poster of note, with a quick clip just off the set of what I'm assuming is "Father of Invention." Elsewhere, Demi Moore demonstrated once again what a valuable tool Twitter is for glimpsing into her marriage life with Ashton Kutcher. You can click down to check out all of those and »

Ashton Kutcher's Emergency Landing And Steven Tyler's Fall In Today's Twitter-Wood

6 August 2009 4:29 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Don't worry. Ashton Kutcher appears to be safely on the ground and tweeting following an engine emergency in his plane. Thanks to the wonders of the Twitter-Wood feed, his well being has been verified. Today's report actually contains several notes of danger, with the "Spread" star showing up first. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler suffered injuries after a fall from stage during a concert in South Dakota. I don't have a Twitter account on file for Tyler, but writer Brian Lynch was on hand to tweet.

Significantly less dangerous was director James Gunn's birthday this week, which earned Twitter Pic of the Day honors. The "Slither" director apparently celebrated with some sushi and Lex Luthor himself, Michael Rosenbaum. You can scope out a link to that shot, as well as swearing advice and "Twilight" hopes from Peter Facinelli below. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for August 6, 2009.

'Funny People' Micro-Reviews And Tokyo Travel Advice In Today's Twitter-Wood

3 August 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Any "Star Wars" fan planning a trip to Tokyo soon should look no further than Warwick Davis' Twitter account for advice. He served it up to his "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" co-star Tom Felton today, and you will definitely want to read his recommendation.

In addition to travel advice, Twitter-Wood has proven itself once again to be a great source of Monday celebrity micro-reviews. The most popular film to see in the feed this weekend was definitely "Funny People," and I've rounded up commentary by Shannon Elizabeth, Jon Favreau, and a couple of others who sounded of today. All of those and one of Emmy Rossum's simple daily frustrations are assembled for you below. But first, for the consideration of Twitter-Wood readers everywhere, I present my pick for Twitter Pic of the Day -- courtesy of Mr. John Stamos.

Kevin Smith's Birthday Plans And A 'Harry Potter' Actor's First Tweets In Today's Twitter-Wood

31 July 2009 3:08 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Considering the amount of hockey tweeting Kevin Smith has been doing lately, it should come as little surprise that he's setting up a match for his 39th birthday on Sunday. It sounds like he'll need to get some extra rest hours in on Saturday, though, because his new film "A Couple of Dicks" is pulling some a late shoot tonight, according to Kevin Pollak.

Other gems in today's rundown include Tom Felton's warm welcome to one of his Hogwarts professors, as well as a blast from the past for "Full House" fans via John Stamos, who uploaded a photo taken during a BBQ at Bob Saget's place. You can check out all of these and find out which "Twilight" actress recently got a tattoo in the Twitter-Wood report for July 31, 2009.

Val Kilmer On The 'Willow' Set Dating Scene In Vintage Vids

17 July 2009 11:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

I'm not entirely sure that a video interview from July 2008 really counts as "vintage." It works today though because of Warwick Davis's comments on the (admittedly far-fetched) possibility of George Lucas getting the gang back together for a sequel. Still, Davis was more hopeful on the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" red carpet about the "Willow" sequel possibilities than fellow star Val Kilmer was in the below video.

Which isn't to say that MTV's Josh Horowitz shied away from asking Mad Martigan about his "Willow" experiences. Kilmer hems and haws a bit, but he eventually dishes a rather interesting, and apparently documented, detail. In the actor's own words, "more little people got together," wink, wink towards the camera, "in 'Willow' than any time in history." Well... uhhh... wow Val. Neat bit of trivia there. Watch the clip; it's pretty hilarious.

Warwick Davis On A 'Willow' Sequel And The George Lucas TV Series That Almost Was

17 July 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Everyone’s got their pop culture fever dreams. Jimmy Fallon is on a one-man mission of awesome to stage a “Saved by the Bell” reunion. At MTV, we’ve been holding a candle—a candle flickering with magical goodness—for another go at George Lucas’ fantastical adventure story, “Willow.”

Why? Firstly, because Kelly Kapowski can still make a grown man weep. And secondly, because dragons, sorcerers and Val Kilmer are still cool after all these years. Really. We’ll leave “SbtB” to Fallon and his staff and instead concentrate on shamelessly drumming up support for more “Willow,” the 1988 film about a little person tasked with protecting a baby who, it is prophesied, will grow up to conquer an evil queen.

Last time we caught up with the star and namesake of “Willow,” Warwick Davis, he spoke enthusiastically about the potential for a sequel. A year later, on the red carpet »

Profiling Hogwarts' Teaching Staff In 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince'

16 July 2009 10:30 AM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Before Bill Nighy confirmed he was going to be joining the cast of “Harry Potter,” he wasn’t being facetious when he complained that he was the last big British actor to not be involved in the series. With heavy hitters like the late Richard Harris, Kenneth Branagh and Ralph Fiennes weaving in and out of the series, who can blame him for feeling left out?

The professors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in particular possess acting talent which comes from the upper echelons of British celeb royalty. Young Americans might not recognize all of their faces outside of "Potter," especially those who are masked behind beards and more extensive makeup. So we've decided to profile the top Hogwarts talents for you here; not their fictional professorships, but rather the reasons you should look for them in roles outside the "Harry Potter" universe.

Tom Felton fans will be happy to know Dan gave him a bit of praise too! "He is amazing," Dan said....This film belongs to Rupert Grint and Tom Felton." We decided to tell Dan about Rupert's comments on being uncertain how it would pan out for him after Hp and he said that what Rupert said is rubbish!
