Brunette is the new black.

From Courteney Cox Arquette (at left; Getty Images) and Adam Lambert (below right; TV Guide), to Selena Gomez and Seth MacFarlane, there was a wave of non-blonde star power cramming TV Guide Magazine’s Hot List party on Tuesday night. (So many bodies, the press wall nearly tipped over ...)

Williamson Talks More Scream 4

7 hours ago | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

The horror genre has undergone quite a few changes since Scream single-handedly rescued the genre from box office oblivion back in the mid 90s (I can’t believe it’s been over ten years already) so news of a fourth film has really piqued Dread Central’s curiosity. Will Scream 4 be in line with the gorier, nastier flicks that came after the self-referential trilogy, or can we expect some good-natured winking to accompany our slashing? We’ve got an answer for you.

The New York Post’s PopWrap talked to writer Kevin Williamson about the looming fourth film in the franchise: ”The thing about 'Scream 4' is that there are a lot of twists and turns, so I can't promise anything", meaning any of our returning characters might not live to see another sequel beyond 4.

Commenting on the changes within the horror genre, Williamson said the following: "I've [included] manga comics, »

'SNL': Liked Taylor Swift? Who else should host?

9 November 2009 10:17 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Yesterday, on his Watching TV blog, Ken Tucker noted with surprise that he found the Taylor Swift-hosted Saturday Night Live the show's best episode of the season. Commenters' reactions were truly a mixed bag. Some, like lei, loved Swift's performance ("[She's] the female Justin Timberlake of SNL – have her on often and it's a must watch"), while just as many reacted with outrage (Jonathan Juarbe: "She was horrendous and utterly painful to watch, oh and her voice…how is she making money!"). I thought Swift did an okay job -- her awkward Kate Gosselin impression was actually spot-on (though I »

Could Scream 4 Be the Hit Dimension Needs?

9 November 2009 | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

In a morning report about the 2009 American Film Market - which was admittedly glum last year but is now seeing a silver lining - Screen Daily says The Weinstein Company's Scream 4 has been a hit in the marketplace with buyers "flocking" to the title. This is even before Kevin Williamson has even turned in a draft of the script . Early buzz in the marketplace could spell good things for Dimension Films which has had a sluggish 2009. It might even prompt the Weinsteins to move a little faster to lock down a director. Wes Craven is being courted to return, but he wants to see a script first. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are signed to star again and the fourth entry will introduce all-new characters. »

Courteney Cox has denied rumours that a Friends movie is being made. The speculation was heightened in September when James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther in the sitcom, claimed that the film was "definitely on". However, The Mirror reports that when Cox was asked if the cast had all signed up, she replied: "That would be a negative." The actress, who played Monica in the show, continued: "We're not. Cox And Aniston Step Up Congo Charity Campaign

6 November 2009 4:11 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Former Friends stars Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston are stepping up a campaign to fight for women's rights in the Congo.

The actresses have lent their support to humanitarian fashion brand OmniPeace, which aims to stamp out violence against women in the African region, and is run by their friend Mary Fanaro.

Earlier this year Cox and Aniston joined singer Sheryl Crow at a dinner party to raise awareness for the charity, and now they're taking a new campaign to Senator Hilary Clinton.

The stars are urging gadget fans in America and Europe not to buy electronics, such as cell phones and laptops, which contain materials sourced from 'conflict mines' - where the industry is at the centre of violent fighting.

Cox has praised her pal Fanaro for all her charity efforts and hopes they will be able to spread their message even further.

She tells Fox News, "OmniPeace was created to give back. I can’t think of a better way to support my best friend and all the work that she and OmniPeace do to donate to causes supporting peace, education, human rights and the end of extreme poverty by 2025. Mary's passion is so contagious and wonderful. It has taught me that anything is possible with enough perseverance and tenacity.” »

Cougar Town Recap: "Don't Come Around Here No More"

5 November 2009 9:46 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

We've been sticking it out with Cougar Town only out of courtesy for Bill Lawrence, creator of one of our favorite shows of all times, Scrubs.

Luckily with each passing episode, this show seems to be getting closer and closer to finding its funny niche.  During this last episode, "Don't Come Around Here No More," the entire cast managed to get together for a barbecue at Jules' house.

Now that's a good thing because this show is actually good when we see each of the character interacting with each other and actually growing, as opposed to a series of one-dimensional caricatures that rarely interact with each other.

We're hoping by next season (if this show gets renewed), Bill and crew will have this show figured out.  There's no way we can say goodbye to Courteney Cox again.

Now for some of our favorite Cougar Town quotes from last week:

Review: Cougar Town - Don't Come Around Here No More

5 November 2009 8:35 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

(S01E07) For the first half-dozen episodes of Cougar Town, legions of watchers have been wondering along with me what would happen when a) Courteney Cox remembers she's no playing Monica Gellar anymore and dials it down a notch and b) the ensemble starts melding with each other a bit more. Well, we seemed to get that in this episode, and it made for a funny and engaging half-hour.

Do I still have issues with the show? Sure. But this episode was the best sign I can think of that Bill Lawrence and company are going to get the show on a funny footing by the end of the season.

Horror supremo Kevin Williamson has revealed his plans for 'Scream 4'.

The 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' writer plans to introduce enough new characters in the next film to last him through 'Scream 5' and 'Scream 6', which he also hopes to make.

Kevin said: "The fourth one is an ensemble. It'll take place right now, 10 years later, and it's going to take place in character Sidney Prescott's hometown of Woodsboro. The film will star husband and wife team David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who have starred in the first three films in the series.

"We'll have our three main characters, and we'll be introducing several more."

Kevin, 44, said he has also included plenty of spoof-heavy material in the script.

He explained: "I'll just have to be very aware of the fact that we're a '4' and that we're beating a dead dog.

4 November 2009 2:06 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Matthew Perry turned down the chance to resurrect his onscreen romance with his former Friends co-star Courteney Cox in her new show Cougar Town.

The pair played a couple in the long-running sitcom, which aired for the last time in 2004, and Cox had so much fun playing Perry's partner on TV, she turned to him while casting her new comedy, which she also produces.

But Perry, 40, said no.

The 45-year-old actress tells Us Weekly magazine, "I did ask Matthew if he'd play my boyfriend on the show. He thought it was a little much after Chandler and Monica." »
