Long live Blade! A lot of Full Moon's output has been hit or miss over the years, but I've always enjoyed the Puppet Master films. Hell, who am I kidding? It’s time to dust off your badge, ready your best Jack Lord, “Book ‘em, Dano,” impression and start humming the infamous theme song as criminals of Hawaii now have more to fear than Dog: The Bounty Hunter, as CBS has announced that it’s bringing back the second-longest-running criminal drama, Hawaii Five-o.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who brought us Fringe and Star Trek, along with CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov will produce the show for CBS Television Studios with CBS committing to a pilot after hearing a pitch from Kurtzman, Orci and Lenkov last Thursday.
Fans of Fringe need not worry that their favorite science fiction show will go the way of Alias and Lost when J.J Abrams found new projects to focus his attention (Lost has since recovered) as Lenkov will be penning the script with Kurtzman and Orci supervising. Should the show be picked up, »

From Transformers, Star Trek and Fringe to... Hawaii Five-o? Sure, why not! It was confirmed this week that writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will not be returning to help write Transformers 3 for Michael Bay. Instead, it appears that they will be turning their attention to a remake of the classic '70s cop series Hawaii Five-o for CBS. Sounds like they're trading up to me. Variety [1] reports that Kurtzman and Orci will oversee the scripting of the pilot by Peter Lenkov, who also executive produces CSI: NY and previously wrote screenplays for such films as Demolition Man and Son in Law. If the show gets picked up, Lenkov would serve as the series showrunner. Another Hawaii Five-o remake was first announced last year with Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds) on board as the writer. At the time, it was hinted that the new show would revolve around Chris McGarrett, »

For as long as I can remember, I had trouble telling the difference between Ron Silver and Andy Garcia. Their backgrounds are completely different, but they just happen to look-alike. Early on, I also though that Ed Burns looked like Ben Affleck, Will Smith looked like basketball player Robert Horry, and Tom Cruise looked like Scott Wolf. Oh yeah, and Joaquin Phoenix now looks like the Unabomber. Now, the MyFunnyCoolPics blog put together a list of celebrities who look-alike and got the photos to prove it. Actors like Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) are on the list, and so are Gary Busey and Nick Nolte. Check out the photos below and let us know which celebrities you constantly confuse with each other. Photos: (click to enlarge) »

I haven’t seen "District 9" yet, but you really only need the trailer to get a heaping spoonful of the heebie jeebies. Better yet, check out Neill Blomkamp’s “Alive in Joburg,” the short film “District 9” is based on. It is, in a word, unsettling. As repulsive as the human population’s treatment of the stranded aliens is, you can almost sympathize; they are inhuman, and that otherness coupled with closeness to our homes makes the skin crawl. That much is evident in the "D9" clip below:
It’s a classic trope in sci-fi cinema, alien infiltration. Not invasion mind you, I mean aliens living among us, incognito or otherwise. Here are five classics that did it best. Before "District 9" came along, that is.
“Starman”
John Carpenter’s got a knack for directing scary alien stories. “The Thing”, with its titular extraterrestrial that can shapeshift and horrifically disfigure people, »

Dear Sick Girl, I'm not sure what made me fall in love you or why we came together, but I do know that I'll never be the same because of you. People say there's no such thing as love at first sight but after seeing you, I'd have to say people don't really know much about nothing. Was it your pretty face or family values that lured me into your heart? Or maybe it was in the way you'd clean blood off your body and clothes, knowing quite well that it was only a matter of time before it was blood soaked again. Perhaps it was the relationship between you and your brother that made me realize what I wanted from us. The way you'd defend him to your last breath, the way your face lit up when you spoke his name "Rusty", the way you backed your ass into »

Back in March, Warner Bros announced the creation of Warner Archives, a mail-order service that offered some of the more obscure titles from the studio's vaults on DVD for armchair cinephiles. Each month, the studio promised to dust off more films and add them to the list. We'll be honest, the first batch was loaded with a lot of mothball-scented curios that were never released on DVD for a reason. They were lesser films from big stars like Cary Grant, Clark Gable, and Greta Garbo. Sure, the Robert Osborne crowd would eat them up, but what about the rest of us with -- how should we put this -- less discerning tastes? Well, this month's arsenal of Warner Archives titles is for you! Here are some of the highlights. *Razorback: Highlander's Russell Mulcahy helms this 1984 killer pig movie is a wonderfully gory slice of Ozploitation. This is Grade »

It wasn't until fairly recently that voice acting in video games was done by either no-name actors trying to pay the bills or B- and C-list actors who were, well, also trying to pay the bills. The Command and Conquer games began employing a mixed bag of actors in its 1999 iteration, Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun, when they managed to snag Luke Skywalker's big daddy James Earl Jones, but otherwise continued casting random character actors like Udo Kier and Barry Corbin in future games like Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2.
Grand Theft Auto III changed the game, literally, with its roster of recognizable names and voices like Joe Pantoliano, Michael Madsen, Michael Rapaport, Debi Mazar, and Kyle MacLachlan all playing parts in the free-for-all crime cape that make Rockstar Games just that. With GTA III's massive sales and buzz (particularly from angry parents), the scene was set for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, »

It's not every day that our animation comes with a slice of political commentary and adult themes. But now, following in the steps of South Park and Team America, Variety reports that the off-Broadway musical Smoking Bloomberg is getting animated. The vague plot sounds alright, stating that Bloomberg "follows a Korean dry cleaner who hopes to overturn the 2003 smoking ban championed by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg." But that's like reducing Watchmen to a bunch of people running around in superhero outfits.
You can read a very detailed synopsis at the project's site, which makes the whole plot a whole lot clearer. Here are some of the bits -- by "overturn," we're talking all-out Bloomberg revenge, and there's Alif, a man who keeps getting arrested for being Arab American, a fellow dry cleaner who supports himself as a prostitute, smoking rebellions, and Gary Busey, who is mistaken for »

Entourage star Kevin Connolly is still shuddering after a strange day on set with guest star Gary Busey - because the veteran actor kept trying to tickle him in between takes.
Connolly admits he was warned about the 65 year old's "unique" reputation before the actor joined the hit U.S. TV drama for a cameo in 2007.
And the actor still can't shake the humiliating memory of Busey pinning him down in front of cast and crew to tickle him on set.
He remembers, "He's looking at me... and he's like, 'Kevin, you and I are going to play a game called tickle and pee.' I said, 'Gary, please, I'm 33 years old. It's emasculating.'
"He's chasing me around on the set. I'm running away from Gary Busey on my set and Gary Busey is freakishly strong. He caught me ultimately and he tickled me. I felt like I was in fifth grade again." »

Great news today for anyone who enjoys blowing the crap out of Mars. “Red Faction: Guerrilla” is getting a series of 3 Dlc packs. The first is called “Demons of the Badlands” and will release sometime in August. It’s a single-player campaign-extending pack which will be set primarily in the Badlands, an section of the game map that was only briefly explored in the main campaign. Expect sand raiders, “Mad Max”-looking motorcycles and what’s this, a new mech? Yes, please!
Follow-up packs are still unrevealed (here’s hoping Gary Busey is involved!), but expect at least one of them to feature additions to the already-robust multiplayer component.

Just as everyone has an opinion, a favorite meal and a nose — albeit a fake one at times — so too does everyone have a birthday. Even celebrities. Here at Birthday Bash, it’s my mission to salute the fine actors, filmmakers and other Hollywood heroes that are celebrating their special day this week. After all, it’s cheaper than mailing a cake.
This week is jam-packed with birthday celebrations — so many, in fact, that I just couldn’t include them all. Still, there are some personalities who I found impossible to ignore…
Gary Busey (June 29): The current generation of moviegoers might only know Gary Busey for bear-hugging and smooching Jennifer Garner on the 2008 Academy Awards red carpet, or perhaps for his stint on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” But there’s a plethora of Busey performances that are truly must-see fare, such as his turns as Mr. Joshua in “Lethal Weapon, »
