Movie Review: The Matrix Revolutions (2003)

A film about the Merovingian and Persephone would have been ten times better!

Photo: Warner Bros. Following the ending to Matrix Reloaded I was still anticipating Revolutions. It was almost impossible not to be excited. At the time I was one of the few that really liked Reloaded and felt the holding back of the mythology and philosophy in the second film was all because it was going to culminate into one big life lesson in the third film. Unfortunately, even after I saw Revolutions five years ago, I knew then I hadn't seen a very good film. Five years later it isn't any better. Reloaded ends with Neo (Keanu Reeves) in an undefined coma after playing havoc with a group of oncoming Sentinels. Revolutions picks up as if we never left and the search to find Neo is on all while the impending threat the machines pose on Zion continues to build.

Movie Review: The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

14 October 2008 1:08 AM, PDT | From Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news

It all started out so pretty

Photo: Warner Bros. Four years following the release of The Matrix the Wachowski brothers bring back Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and Agent Smith to fight another day. Anticipation couldn't be higher, so much to the point there was no way the film could live up to it. Simultaneously shot with the third film in the trilogy (Matrix Revolutions) to be released six months afterward, The Matrix Reloaded begins an undetermined time into the future since we last watched Neo fly off into the atmosphere after threatening to show the machines a world without them. Well, that didn't work out too well because as we are getting our first glimpse of the underground human stronghold Zion and learning the machines are digging their way through the Earth and should be there soon enough kill the humans in about 72 hours, give or take. When I first saw

D&G Celebrate the Golden Age With J Lo, Matthew, and More

26 September 2008 11:00 AM, PDT | From Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news

The famous foursome of Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Matthew McConaughey, and Camila Alves were together again last night at the Dolce & Gabbana Golden Age party in Milan. The bash celebrated Domenico Dolce's 50th anniversary, and what better way than with a decadent soiree including all their A-List friends — the Lopez-Anthonys even arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. Elsewhere in the Fashion Week fun, Mischa Barton and Rihanna smiled on the red carpet at the Fab Five Vanity Fair Party. Rachel Zoe managed to hit up both events. but I'm guessing Sacha Baron Cohen's invitations got lost in the mail. To see more from FW including Mischa, Anna, Claudia, Matthew, Jennifer, Marc, and others just read more Images include: Mischa Barton, Joely Richardson, Monica Bellucci, Anna Wintour, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Frida Giannini, Rachel Zoe, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Herzigova, Stefano Gabbana, Claudia Schiffer, Matthew McConaughey, Camilla Alves, Dita von Teese,

Stone Dropped From Chinese Film

5 June 2008 9:05 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Latest: Sharon Stone has reportedly been dropped from the cast of new movie Mermaid Island following her controversial comments about the country's recent earthquake.

The Hollywood actress stunned journalists at the Cannes International Film Festival in France last month when she suggested the disaster, which left more than 67,000 people dead, was down to "karma" - linking the tragedy to China's treatment of Tibetans.

Officials in the country had threatened to ban her films, with French fashion house Christian Dior also dropping her from advertising campaigns in the nation.

And now her comments have cost her a major movie role. Stone was due to star alongside Monica Bellucci in the forthcoming U.S.-Chinese production which is to be helmed by Catwoman director Pitof.

But now according to Moviehole.net, Stone has been dropped by producers and the role is set to be re-cast.

Stone has since re-issued an apology for her remarks, insisting her "words were never meant to be hurtful to anyone, they were an accident of my distraction and a product of news sensationalism."
