Christina Applegate is reportedly "baffled" by ABC's decision to axe Samantha Who?. Despite being expected to return for a third season, it was announced earlier this year that the sitcom had been cancelled due to budget tightening. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Donald Todd said that the cast and crew cannot understand the reasons behind ABC's move. "Sadly, ABC's strategy (more)

Funny guy Jason Sudeikis is keeping himself busy signing to quite a few upcoming big-screen projects, and the latest he's about ready to join is a romantic comedy.
The "Saturday Night Life" comedian is indeed in talks to join Nanette Burstein's upcoming film "Going the Distance," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
That means he'll be joining Drew Barrymore, Justin Long and Christina Applegate, who already signed on. Newcomer Geoff Latulippe, who’s been working at New Line Cinema for several years, wrote the script.
Essentially, the film focuses on a couple’s attempt to maintain a long-distance relationship. One lives in Chicago while the other is located in Los Angeles.
Sudeikis, who delivered quite a funny performance in "The Rocker," also recently signed on to star in "The Bounty" (aka. "Bounty Hunter"). He's also got "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" coming up soon.

When Alvin And The Chipmunks was released last year, many people--myself included--expected it to flop. $200 million later and we have ourselves a sequel--err squeakquel. Jason Lee and David Cross are featured in prominent roles but the first one was so reviled by critics that I doubt this one can be much better. Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, and Amy Poehler will be voicing The Chippettes the female counterparts to our beloved rodents. I say we all get super messed up and go see this. That, or we should snack on some broken glass.

All five of last year's Emmy rivals for best comedy actress are back in the race and seem likely to return on July 16: Christina Applegate ("Samantha Who?"), America Ferrera ("Ugly Betty"), Tina Fey ("30 Rock"), Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") and Mary-Louise Parker ("Weeds"). Since the TV academy is expanding this category to six contenders this year, that means there's room for one more. Don't count out Amy Poehler just because "Parks and Recreation" hasn't scored big with TV critics and Nielsen viewers. Unlike the previous three Emmy derbies, nominees will be chosen by a popular vote of members of the academy's acting branch – and, of course, Poehler is hugely popular. Personally, I'm rooting for her to get in. Poehler told Gold Derby that there will be no "diva clawfest" between her and former "Saturday Night Live" costar Tina Fey (last year's champ) if they both nab noms,

I’ve been hurting. Probably my two favorite comedies on TV—“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”—have been on hiatus far too long, and there’s only so many times you can re-watch episodes before your neighbors, behind thin NYC apartment walls, begin to complain. But! Larry David’s “Curb” is coming back to HBO in the fall, after a two-year break. And now comes word that “Sunny,” the debaucherous comedy about four friends who run a dive bar in Philly and make one another’s lives hilariously uncomfortable, will be resurfacing on F/X on September 17th for a 12-episode run.
While Charlie Day, along with his fellow writer/producer/co-stars Rob McElhenney and Glenn Howerton are still in the midst of shooting episodes, Day stepped away from the set to kick MTV News the inside scoop about what “Sunny” fans can expect when

Apparently we're celebrating trailer day today. Unfortunately Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel isn't quite as good as Couples Retreat or The Informant. In fact its quite a bit worse, in that it made me want to jump out the window. I'm only one story up so I'd likely only hurt myself. So not kill yourself bad, but at least broken ankle bad. The story, if you can call it that, is based around the chipmunks going to school and meeting the chipettes. I'm sure there's more but children ain't going to this for plot-based reasons, so I'll sum it up for kids - It's Talking Chipmunks! Again! Sold. Box office gold. In 'paycheck mode' are humans Jason Lee and David Cross, chipmunk voicing humans Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney and chipettes Anna Faris, Christina Applegate and Amy Poehler. Great cast sure, and in nearly anything else I'd be on board. I

If there is one romantic comedy you should be on the look out for, it's the upcoming Going the Distance. We already know that it'll star Drew Barrymore and Justin Long and is being directed by American Teen director Nanette Burstein. Joining the cast are Charlie Day, one of the stars and creators of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and actress Christina Applegate, who was last seen on "Samantha Who?". The story by first-time writer Geoff Latulippe follows a couple (Barrymore and Long) trying to maintain a long-distance relationship. Day is playing Long's best friend while Applegate will play Barrymore's sister. If you're an avid fan of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", you might already know that not many of its stars have "made the jump" to movies just yet. Charlie Day was only able to do so this time by coordinating his schedule to work around the shoot for

Slowly but surely my childhood continues to die with the sequel of the surprise 2007 Twentieth Century Fox hit, Alvin and the Chipmunks with their ‘Squeakquel’. This time around, Alvin, Simon and Theodore are not alone in their tiny world with the arrival of the Chipettes who are voiced by Christina Applegate, Anna Faris and Amy Poehler.
In the sequel, David Seville (Jason Lee) sends Alvin, Simon, and Theodore off to school, saying “it’s good for them.” Little did he know, the Chipmunks feel like “Chipmunks Out of Water” because of all the (human) kids around. Meanwhile, Ian Hawke (David Cross (after the loss of the Chipmunks dealt him a serious blow) is freed from jail and searches the world for animals who can sing and dance. He happens upon the Chipettes and cannot wait to make them famous and get revenge on the Chipmunks.

20th Century Fox has released a trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. (I refuse to refer to this movie as “The Squeakquel” as Fox insists in the awful title.) It’s just about as awful as it sounds. There’s high-pitched singing, CGI rodents, and the Chipettes. What, no eating feces this time?
The original Alvin and the Chipmunks made $217 million in the U.S., which means another one was inevitable. Jason Lee returns to sell another piece of his dignity as their owner, Dave Seville. While the rodents are all still voiced by celebrities for some reason (can you even tell?) The chipmunks are: Justin Long (Alvin), Matthew Gray Gubler (Simon), and Jesse McCartney (Theodore). The Chipettes are: Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, and Amy Poehler.
This is all great news if you have kids or time to waste. Watch the “trailer” below:
