Two Terrific New 'From Paris with Love' Posters

13 hours ago | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

Almost exactly a year after Taken stormed American theaters, director Pierre Morel will return with From Paris With Love, a great title for a movie that is about the exact opposite. Oh sure, it's Paris, but love is probably the wrong emotion.

The film stars John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte or Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan or Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Only in France. I hate to be so reductive about it, but it's an oil-and-water cop movie; the rest is just details.

However, From Paris with Love has some of the coolest posters in the game this year. The first, a flip of the Eiffel Tower as a gun, is terrific, and I like these new character posters, too. Click to enlarge: »

Five Favorite Films with F. Gary Gray

14 October 2009 9:25 AM, PDT | Rotten Tomatoes | See recent Rotten Tomatoes news »

Director F. Gary Gray began his career creating music videos for several big name R&B and hip-hop artists in the early 90s, including Ice Cube, Tlc, and OutKast. In 1995, Gray made a big screen splash with a little stoner comedy called Friday, starring a pre-Rush Hour Chris Tucker and an up-and-coming Ice Cube, a friend of Gray's. Friday was a surprise hit, opening the doors for future high profile projects such as The Negotiator, 2003's The Italian Job remake, and Be Cool. This week, Gray continues his strong track record in the crime/action genre with Law Abiding Citizen, and... »

Jason Reitman, Edgar Wright And Diablo Cody Attacked By 'Old Dogs' Today In Twitter-Wood

25 September 2009 3:00 PM, PDT | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

Warmoth is out today. So @geminibros is here to steer the great ship Twitter-Wood. [insert requisite grumbling here]. [insert requisite praising of Warmoth's patience and skill in crafting this daily column here].

Today's Twitter-Wood report is light on variety, but with good cause. Bob Saget's new lady-love took the TwitPic prize, though Eliza Dushku followed close behind for shouting out to her "Dollhouse" fans. There's also a mini-update from "Twilight" star Peter Facinelli and a Brett Ratner burn from writer Brian Lynch. The highlight though is an exchange between pals Jason Reitman, Edgar Wright and Diablo Cody. Mr. Wright made some comments about the upcoming John Travolta/Robin Williams-starring family comedy "Old Dogs" and he caught some heat for it. Hilarity, of course, ensues. I'm @geminibros and this is your Twitter-Wood report for September 25, 2009.
