Paparazzi Battle Bodyguards At Pitt + Jolie Home
25 July 2008 9:01 AM, PDT
Two paparazzi photographers have been involved in a scuffle with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's bodyguards, after they were found hiding in the grounds of the stars' French home.
The two men, who were wearing camouflage gear in a bid to go unnoticed, were discovered by members of the Hollywood superstar couple's security team at their rented French chateau on Thursday.
As they were being escorted from the grounds, one of the snappers allegedly went "berserk" and lashed out.
It is claimed he even bit a bodyguard and yelled that he was infected with Hepatitis C.
Tony Webb, head of the team guarding the stars' estate, says, "We caught the two and tried to escort them off the property and the guy's just gone berserk, thrashing out, kicking and actually biting one of the security people, breaking his finger, drawing blood and screaming that he had Hepatitis C."
The men were thought to be trying to get exclusive snaps of the couple's newborn twins before they are unveiled for the first time in a U.S. publication - which has paid $11 million (GBP5.5 million) for the pictures.
Earlier this week (begs21Jul08) Pitt threatened legal action against any publication which prints photos of his family at the French house after an ad agency offered to sell snaps of the family playing in the grounds of their home.
Pitt's lawyer says, "The family are really fed up that these people are trespassing so we're going to try to get restraining orders and use the law to do whatever we have to to keep them off the property."

Fellow producer Barbara Schneeweiss tells the New York Post's PageSix, "I called up Harvey and said, 'We have all these people who have worked so hard on the show who should be recognized'. He was great about it and said, 'I'll take one for the team'."
Weinstein's brother Bob is still included on the credits - but elder sibling Harvey isn't bothered about missing out, and says, "I've gotten plenty of other awards. It's the right thing to do."

Comedian Russell Brand is returning to work for MTV, seven years after he was sacked over a sick 9/11 prank.

He has since forged a successful career in stand-up comedy - and has now been asked to present this year's MTV Video Music Awards in Hollywood.
Brand, who recently played a rock musician in movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, says, "I didn't mention (the Bin Laden incident) to them when they offered me this gig, which leads me to believe that they haven't investigated my career history too closely."
And the notorious womaniser has promised more controversy, adding: "I'm planning to have lesbian kisses with Britney (Spears) and Madonna individually.
"It's not going to be easy what with my genitals, but God, I will try."

Cops Called To Connery's Home In Neighbour Dispute
25 July 2008 12:08 PM, PDT
Sir Sean Connery's long-running feud with his New York neighbour has hit the headlines once more, after police were called to the property on Friday.
The veteran 007 star has been locked in a lengthy legal battle with Dr. Burton Sultan regarding repair work carried out on the upper east side property, which the latter claims was of substandard quality.
The latest argument stems from some pieces of scaffolding which have allegedly been left in Sultan's backyard by builders working on Connery's home, which is spread over the top two floors of the townhouse.
According to website TMZ.com, Sultan called the cops to make a complaint about the mess on Friday - but when officers arrived to answer the call, the neighbour was not at home.
The site claims Sultan intends to dial 911 again in an attempt to get Connery to remove the 20-odd pieces of scaffolding.
Ritchie: 'Marriage To Madonna Is Good'
25 July 2008 12:08 PM, PDT
Filmmaker Guy Ritchie has broken his silence over reports his marriage to Madonna is in trouble, insisting everything's fine.
The showbiz couple's union has been under intense media scrutiny in recent weeks, amid rumours they are on the verge of a divorce.
Pop superstar Madonna has also come under fire for her close friendship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez, with the sportsman's estranged wife alleging she had an "affair of the heart" with Rodriguez.
However, appearing at the San Diego International Comic-Con event in California on Thursday, director Ritchie appeared happy and content, reports People.com.
When asked by reporters whether things are going well in his marriage, he replied, "As far as I'm aware of."
Ritchie is currently busy promoting his upcoming action film RocknRolla, which was filmed in his hometown of London.
And he openly chatted about viewing the British capital through the eyes of Madonna, who moved from the U.S. to the U.K. when the pair wed in 2000.
He said, "I was born there and I've seen it change and I know a great deal about it, I'm invested. I live vicariously through my wife, so I was once a spy and now I've become a tourist, and it's much more fun to live in London as a tourist than it is as a spy.
"Someone told me the definition was a spy always looks for the bad stuff, and a tourist always looks for the good stuff. So that makes it easy, being married to an American."
Judge Reveals Oscars Ticket Tout Name
25 July 2008 9:01 AM, PDT
Organisers of the Academy Awards have won the right to know the name of a ticket tout who tried to sell two exclusive invites to this year's ceremony for $5,000 (GBP2,500).
A Los Angeles judge ordered advertising website Craigslist.com to reveal the name of the seller - identified only as Daniel - so that Oscar bosses could take legal action.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will use the information to launch a case against several individuals and companies who have been caught selling the invites.
Oscar invitees are forbidden to sell their tickets because of the annual event's high-security restrictions. The rules state that anyone using another person's invite to gain access to the ceremony is a 'trespasser'.
The Academy's lawyer, David Quinto, says, "If you don't know who's inside the theatre, it's very difficult to provide security."

Cyrus' video has now been interspersed with Gomez and Lovato's footage and posted on video-sharing website YouTube.com to show a frame-by-frame comparison of the two.

He says, "Chris Carter (creator) has said something about 2012 (for a third film). It depends very much on this film. I know we've made a great thriller/horror/creepy movie. Simply put, if it does the right kind of business, we'll be able to make more.
"We hope it becomes kind of a film franchise. Coming back was always something I wanted to do. I would love to follow Mulder as he got older and older."

She released a statement to the media announcing her decision to quit, and condemning her former employer.
It reads, "After working for Heather Mills for the past four years, I have decided to cease representing her. Since her divorce has become final, in my opinion, Heather has become an impossible person.
"I have been very patient in my dealings with Heather, however, I cannot take any more. I have given her substantial unpaid time and attention. I am owed money. I refuse to be subjected to her outbursts. On reflection and given the way I have been treated, I now have sympathy with much of what the British Press has reported about her."

Attenborough Blames Violent Films For Youth Crime
25 July 2008 5:18 AM, PDT
British filmmaker Lord Richard Attenborough has called for an end to gratuitous violence on-screen - insisting graphic images in movies have led to a rise in youth crime.
The Gandhi director, who starred as a knife-wielding thug in 1947's Brighton Rock, spoke out about violent scenes in movies and TV shows in a speech at Sussex University, England earlier this week (begs21Jul08).
The veteran star accused the movie industry of creating a culture where film fans are no longer shocked by the use of guns and knives on the big screen.
And he believes this may be connected to the sharp rise in knife crime in the U.K. since the start of 2008 - including the fatal stabbings of Harry Potter star Robert Knox and the brother of British soap actress Brooke Kinsella.
Attenborough says, "Thirty years ago if (legendary late actor) Gary Cooper pulled out a gun the audience would give a sharp intake of breath.
"Now the act of violence is the norm and we in the entertainment industry are partly responsible in making the presence of weapons such as knives almost an acceptable commonplace."
He adds, "So now knife crime is not thought of as something that is horrific and to be abhorred. It is part of normal existence."
Attenborough's comments come just weeks after a host of celebrities including singer Lily Allen and rapper Busta Rhymes called for an end to the spiralling knife crime epidemic in the U.K.
